haha. I'm going on my first Diamond hunt. I should arrive in Sierra Leone by Saturday.
If I can just avoid all the 12 year olds with Machetes and AK47's I should do OK.

In all seriousness though, good luck. If you find anything just make sure you don't sell it to 'cash 4 gold'.

I was just planning on going to a local jeweler. Spend a few weeks doing it and hopefully have an ounce to show for it. Just going with a pan today but getting a sluice and dredge when I get back. Not expecting to make any profit but I'll have a good time with beers and wilderness.

i deal with midwestrefineries.com frequently and have always been handled well... maybe shoot them an email before you go local....i think ther are paying 95% of spot which is VERY good

Only had about an hour today and the place we were originally heading was completely dry. Had to head to a spot I had no idea if gold had ever been found. Was way too rocky to get down more than a few inches. Will try again on Thursday once I find a suitable spot.
