Not sure how much it would be but between gambling and fantasy leagues, it would be at least that amount (5%) and probably much more.

Good point with fantasy football. Plenty of fantasy players do not gamble but watch intently.

I used to think it was very high...

I couldn't go higher than 20 percent though.

I'm not aware of any research on the the topic but if I had to pull a number out of the sky, I think the 20-25% range sounds logical.

I would think 1/3 of the people would quit watching. Jusr a guess, really no idea, sounds about right. Football and gambling is the big pink elephant in the room (or however that saying goes, LOL).

Without the gambling, football pools, fantasy leagues, office squares/pools, the NFL would not be what it is today without it.

For all the talk about the NFL being against gambling/betting .. they owe alot of its popularity to the millions of people who wager on it every week.

Stopped betting, haven't watched a game since. Will turn them on from time to time, and watch a little, but have not seen a single game from start to finish in weeks. Don't really miss it either. Come to find out I have a wife and 2 boys, they don't miss it either. If I didn't lose all the time, I would probably still be betting...and watching..

I think it would be a pretty high percentage.

The same with bettors all over the world...why do you think they put fences and wire around all the soccer stadiums in the world? If it were not for wagering, pro sports would operate in a whole new atmosphere...

i honestly think it WOuld have a profound effect.......down over 25%..salaries would drop close to 50% .........and it might get worse.........whether they admit or not wether it is office pools or a 25 PAR FAV AND OVER ON MONDAY NIGHT.......it would slowly decimate the NFL

NBA would not be effected. Average nba fan is a moron. would say maybe 5% of Laker fans have college degrees. and maybe 1% wager. Of course Californians dont gamble as much as East coast. Just got back from Vegas and Im amazed how many dummies playing parlay cards at horrible odds. Also amazed at how many wannabe 23 yr old 1-2 nl poker pros there are.
