I don't know if you guys remember the story a few years back that made national news - about the guy who "mysteriously" was lost/thrown overboard on a cruise. My wife worked closely with a woman who knew this couple and was on the cruise. She and her husband were some of the last people to see this guy alive. They were interviewed a couple of times by the F.B.I. who indicated this kind of stuff happens all the time on cruises.
I can't remember what cruise line they were on, but sounded like the company screwed up big time. The prime suspects (Russian) were kicked off the ship for bad behaviour and allowed to debark at some port of call. Most of the potential witness were so drunk they couldn't remember a thing.
