Normally I want hurricanes and tropical storms to move over Florida to help fill up our lakes. But after the drenching that Fay just gave us it would probably flood us.

So New Orleans can have all the fun with Gustav. It could be another cat-5 hurricane when it hits, so they better be ready.

Some very accurtate models of the past still have it going to Houston.

The consensus is somewhere between Houston TX. and Mobile AL......as a MINIMUM category 2.

My personal prediction...........

CAT 3 with the eye making landfall over Mobile, AL.

It's nothing but their best guess at this point(it's 5 days out), but right now it looks like New Orleans is the bullseye.

After a couple days in the gulf, don't be surprised if it is another cat 5.

I like Bobby Jindahl but this seems odd. He already has declared an emergency and he doesn't even know if the hurricane will even hit the state.

Louisiana governor declares emergency ahead of Gustav

(CNN) -- Tropical Storm Gustav's impending arrival in the Gulf of Mexico, potentially as a major hurricane, has prompted Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal to declare an emergency for the state.
"We are going to hope for the best, but we're preparing for the worst," Jindal said Wednesday.
The move puts Louisiana in position to receive federal disaster assistance. Jindal also said 3,000 National Guard members will be deployed to vulnerable areas in Louisiana on Thursday to assist with securing shelters and preparing for possible evacuations.
Jindal cited forecasts that Gustav, which killed 22 people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic this week, could become a Category 3 hurricane in the coming days and hit the Gulf Coast by late Monday morning.
Computer models show the storm could head toward New Orleans, but forecasters warn that Gustav's destination cannot be pinpointed.

Storm could still easily hit the edge of Texas.

They say that it if it is rather weak on Saturday, then most likely the path would lead near Texas border. If it is strong, then it would go towards Mississippi
