I hate this stuff as i am in denial. I'm hoping to go to the dolphins game on sunday. I'm hoping i can get all my personal/business stuff done this week. I'm hoping i dont have to do any "prep work".

On another note, my wife has already bought a ton of water and batteries and other stuff. I do not have a generator and hoping i dont lose power as it is hot as shit outside. We lost power back for 5 days back in 2005 for Wilma but it was late October and the weather wasnt so bad

I filled up my gas cans today for my generator just in case. Have a fridge full of food and plenty of beers and liquor and will hunker down if necessary.

Scheduled to arrive in Disney World the 10th.... been planning trip for over a year. On the verge of cancelling if this thing doesn't shift dramatically in the next 48 hours.

All of you who live in Florida, especially down south, be safe. Irma seems to be getting worse by the hour

[h=1]Florida governor declares state of emergency over Hurricane Irma[/h]
Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency in the state to prepare for Hurricane Irma.

The order says the National Hurricane Center predicts the storm will be a "major hurricane located somewhere north of Cuba and south of Andros Island in the Bahamas."

"Hurricane Irma poses a severe threat to the entire State of Florida, and requires that timely precautions are taken to protect the communities, critical infrastructure, and general welfare of this State," the order said.

"As governor, I am responsible to meet the dangers presented to this state and its people by this emergency."

Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossell (D) also declared a state of emergency on Monday ahead of the impending storm.

The National Hurricane Center said Monday that Irma had strengthened to a category 4 storm, with winds at 130 mph.

The East coast is bracing for what the storm might bring.

Last month, Harvey made landfall in Texas and brought devastating flooding to the region. Thousands of people were displaced in the aftermath of the storm and recovery is still ongoing as the region begins to rebuild itself.
