WASHINGTON NATIONALS +102

Small play on the Nats today. I know they have cooled off tremendously since their 8 game winning streak, but they have become a resilient team under interim manager Jim Riggleman. He was in a similar situation last year with Seattle, so he is acclimated to this. Hitting has not necessarily been the Nats weakness during this current slide that they're on. It just so happens that they are against a pitcher today that I believe they can put runs up against. Manny Parra has control issues, and the large amount of walks he gives usually come back to bite him. He has a WHIP of 1.83 and an ERA of 6.33. That does not bode well for a Brewers team that is also scuffling. They have pretty much played their way out of the postseason, as their recent poor play has them 9.5 games out of first. They have been playing down to their level of their competition during this stretch. They have won the first two games of this series, but I expect resilient Washington team to salvage this final game and avoid the sweep. BOL to all, may have one a little later also.

YANKEES/RED SOX UNDER 8.5 (-120)

After two straight games of offensive explosion, I think the bats hit a refractory phase tonight. A limp dick after a huge nut, if you will. The under is even more appealing because of the stellar pitching matchup. Sabathia and Beckett both have exceptional WHIP's (1.13 and 1.12, respectively). They are both strikeout machines, and allow minimal walks. I feel like if either team is going to score a lot of runs, it's going to have to be via the long ball because neither of these pitchers put a lot of men on base. These two offenses are certainly capable of hitting bombs, but I don't think they will against these two starters. Look for a low-scoring, playoff-type atmosphere in this rubber match. I'm looking for a 3-2 type of ballgame. BOL everyone!
