Fresh off my Clemson outright pick over Louisville in men's ncaab, I am going with the mojo and picking the Tigers for the National championship game. I am not a homer. I have picked against the Tigers many times. That being said:

Clemson +7 **********
Clemson moneyline +225 ***
Clemson under 51 ***

My reasoning is this...there is no arguing Bama's talent especially in front 7; however, Clemson has recipe to beat them. Mobile, smart qb (Bama struggled vs Clemson reject Chad Kelly and Tennessee's poorman Deshaun--Dobbs. The uptempo will help at least a little against their rotation as well. I think Clemson has a better chance to make Bama one dimensional than vice verse because of this. Venables can key in on Henry and hopefully limit him to a less than 5 ypc average--maybe 25 carries for 115 yds or so. Coker will then have to beat a pretty good secondary. He probably will once or twice. But also he will get picked off once or twice. Clemson's OC's will spread it out and do something Morris would never do, commit to the power spread. They'll run all night long (not big gains, but just west coast style 3-5 yds at a time to move the chains), but also use the quick wr screens and pitches to Scott as part of the running game. I give Bama all the respect in the world, and their d is better vs spreads than they used to. And if Lawson can't give us 30-40 quality snaps, that will be tough. But I think Deshaun goes 20-32 for 250 yds and runs 17-20 times for 75-100 yds and accounts for 2-3 Tds. Hopefully te legget plays the game of his life. But I really see a back and forth affair. It being like 20-17 or 20-20 in the fourth and Deshaun leading the Tigers to a game winning drive late. Final 23-20, 24-21, 27-22 something like that. We'll see.

Good luck! Go Tigers!!!!

I Agree 100%...CLEMSON SU!
But I Lean Alittle Towards THE OVER, Especially THE CLEMSON TT O 21.5!

Proud CLEMSON ALUM & Season Ticket Holder!
And HELL YEAH, I'm A HOMER!
But My Pick/Play Is Not Based On That...Clemson Is The Better Team, Matches Up Well With BAMA, And Will Poise Many Problems For The Tide QB, As Well As The Tide Defense!

I Say...CLEMSON 31-23

When I say not a homer, I mean I don't pick my team to win or cover every game. I have picked against them many times. I also don't just assume my team is great and the other sucks. Bama is clearly really good, loaded with talent and experience. I tried to analyze the game fairly. I think Clemson is going to win. I think we have a third year in a row with no Sec champ. But it wouldn't shock me at all if Bama wins. It would surprise me if they covered...but I have been wrong a million times before and could be this time too! We'll see!

As a homer, I am amazed at the recruit they are doing there right now though and if they can somehow win, I guess it eil
only get better. Good time to be a Tiger. After the Bowden era, it's a welcome time!

Don't get me wrong I am a homer to but 2 things you said have not happen in the last 3 yrs that I can remember. #1 a QB will not run for 100 yds against bama. #2 When is the last time someone made Bama one-dimensional. It want happen. Now I do agree that D. Watson is by far the best QB in the nation. I love this kid. I do think Alabama will shut down RB Gallman and make Watson beat us thru the air. Just fyi on so-called spread Qbs that you mention above was never a threat on the ground. Kelly went for 21 yds on ground (that gm was won because ole miss converted on 5 t/o's by bama) Dobbs went rushed for 19yds. and we didn't struggle against dobbs we held him to 171 yds in air and only 14 points.

Hey TidePride...were you a Muscle Shoals Trojan, Deshler Tiger, Sheffield Bulldog or Coffee Yellow Jacket?

If you played HS football, who was your head coach? Bet I know him well.

Thanks, another Bama fan..................

That little school ain't nothing but about winning.

Mike Hand (former player) had a difficult season this year with a bunch of young guys.

Deshler will be a player again this season...bank on it. Know Mike well!

Yeah we lost a bunch of SR.'s from ly State Runner up team. Mike has them on the right path. I look for big things next yr. You know Mike was one helluva player during his HS days and also at Bama.

Mike played RB his junior year and linebacker his senior year.

Went to Alabama and Bear Bryant made him a guard...Coach Bryant was good
about sloting players. Mike moved over from Florence HS but most of his coaching
background has come at the college ranks. He ain't a young chicken...been
around football all his life.

Clemson needs all hands on deck. Especially 2 first round talents like them.

I think they both start but I'm not sure how long they will play. Lawson said he's at 60 percent? If it's that bad he might as well sit. Alexander battling a hamstring is scary also.

That's the mistake everyone has made all year. Clemson is not "boys." Win or lose. And Bama will answer no doubt. But Clemson is not "soft" or "boys" as I have read over and over. BOL to you too! Looks like we have a game!
