Boys, i don't know how i am not going to be every penny i have on this one, but someone tell me how the FUK illinois is FAVORED at Northwestern???

Illinois -2 1/2??? Who the hell made this line? LOL

I don't want to hear ANY BS about "illinois needs this win to get bowl eligible" they flushed that dillusion down the toliet weeks ago, this team is in NO WAY worthy of a bowl or playing like their lives depend on it

MY SINGLE BIGGEST PLAY OF THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON TO DATE WILL BE ON NORTHWESTERN +2 1/2!!!

I urge those interested in solid info, capping and most importantly, winning money to follow my lead here.

No luck is involved in this one, we are all taking it to the bank!

I'm a huge NU fan. Watched every Northwestern game this year. Living in the state of Illinois I have also taken an interest in the Illini.

I agree with you. I will be playing Northwestern. Perhaps I don't see it as the game of the year like you do but I will be playing Northwestern.

Illinois has shown themselves to be a gutless team all year long. They have constantly underperfomed all year long and I see no reason for that to change on Saturday. Even if they win and become bowl eligible there the Motor City Bowl is not a lock for them with Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin all being ahead of Illinois.

I think Illinois realizes mid-way through the second quarter in this game that their season is over and lays down. This Illinois team is one of the biggest groups of underachievers I have seen in a long time.

Go Wildcats!

Also looking at the Board

Minnesota +6 is one hell of an excellent play too, at home, and you can throw out that Michigan game, they've been real good. Not a play at the level of NW, but a substantial play none the less.

Dude, how sure are you about this play? :think2:

You've got me thinking I should drop a nickel or dime on Northwestern.

Man, you're one convincing SOB.

Keep on trucking!

Can see Northwestern play, definitely, but not Minnesota. The Gophers year after year are as gutless as Illinois is this year. Never ever finish a season well.
At least they are getting 6, which might get you to back them, but Iowa will carry a huge fan base into the Metrodome.
Good luck on your plays. I'll be backing Northwestern as well.

NW is W-L-W-L-W-L-W in the Big 10. Might be a pattern here. Northwestern lost to Indiana. That is disturbing.

NW also without their two regular RB's for the game. Run D is Illinois' weakness. Their cornerbacks are pretty good.

I think this sets up for an Illinois wins. Tread lightly.

To be fair, NW gift wrapped that game for us. 5 turnovers from NW, 0 for Indiana. Yet on their home field, Indiana still managed to only win by 2, even though the yardage was equal (in Indiana's favor by 3 yards) and they had a +5 turnover margin.

Illinois has much better talent than Northwestern. The game last year was over quickly. Northwestern had no answer for the Williams/Mendenhall spread, or Cumberland for that matter.

Matchup wise I love Illinois, but emotion wise NW has the edge. Even if Illinois wins, even if they get eligible, the best they can do is the Motor City Bowl and do you really think they want a return trip to Detroit to face another MAC opponent? Not quite sure. NW is looking to impress bowl committees.

Dont see them stopping Juice. Illinois needs the win to remain bowl eligilbe. I'm leaning toward Illinois for a small play myself.

Illini-3
Penn St-14
Iowa-6

careful Brock. agree that the line seems off. which is exactly what vegas wants you to think. look at the numbers and the line makes no sense:

Illini 5-6 (1-4 away)
NW 8-3 (4-2 home)

so you have an UNRANKED team favored ON THE ROAD vs a RANKED opponent

throw in the fact that the 'public' is on NW, as one would expect.

Public is NOT on NW! Where do you get your facts from? Here is a slice from ScoresandOdds - you'll see that Illinois is where the public is putting their money on! 53% to 47% as of this writing.

The Illini will have a tough time defending Northwestern. They have good corners but all you have to do is throw over the middle because the Illini have horrible safties and their LB's always get burned on coverage downs. Their run defense really struggles on the outside but they are pretty decent up the middle. Probably better than NW though defending the run.

On the other side of things NW will really have a tough time matching up with the Illini receivers and they will give up plenty of yards through the air and on the ground. "IF" the Illini play up to their potential they could easily win by double digits. NW is really banged up as well.

In no way would I make this a game of the year because all your chips lie on the Illini not showing up. Granted they have been no-shows plenty this year but this is an instate opponet they have to beat to be bowl elegible.

NW is the public play at 55% from what I can see...

I think the over at 51 is great value though because this will be a shootout

None of those sites are accurate. Covers says public is on NW. You cant really go by any of these sites.

NW backers aren't concerned that their top two RB's are OUT? Down to their 3rd stringer who has barely played.
