Most people say the Saints did well but i dont really agree..From my count they already had 8 DL signed and more DB's than they could ever use..I think their wanting to screw around with the contracts of Smith and Grant is why they went after DL..True they needed a run stopper but im not sure they got 1, they ones they drafted are risky in the injury dept and no sure things..
I thought they would go after LB's where they were in dire need of speed at the postion and instead they signed 2 more guys who are injury prone in Vilma and Morgan. Maybe this year didnt have a good crop of linebackers but i still dont think they have improved in that dept a whole lot unless Vilma returns to form. Morgan wouldnt surprise anyone if he never played a down again..
Ol is another area id thought they would go after and they drafted 1 from Neb and thats it.
They got 1 WR and 1DB neither any big names..
1 area i think the Saints are overlooking and Haslett made this same mistake is special teams speed..Haslett ended up at 1 point playing hos starters on ST cus the backups were to big and to slow and it looks like Payton will end up in the same boat...
Im going to give them an F and on the whole offseason an F as well. I dont see where they've improved and its a given that going after DL so hard is going to put even more bad blood between mgmt and Grant and Smith..
And we still have NO TE's to boot

vikings........offseason + draft B+

We are in the same thinking here. I was hoping when they leaped Chicago they would draft Brohm but at least they got someone at the position. I have mixed feelings about Booty but they needed to get someone else in the mix. Now they can cut Brooks and use old Gus for a veteran back up.

Skins C... They got great value but not at positions they need. Why grab a TE when you have Cooly... Why grab 2 WR when you need 1 at most. Should have went after some DL help...

Redskins A+

got great value everywhere. Brennan a top 3 qb, Davis will be a pro bowler, stole Malcolm Kelly and got a big time punter.

Agree with Juice and Oldirt, Skins planted a big fat smooch on the back end of mediocrity. Championship teams polish off a draft with a punter. This team drafting a punter is like the French building speedways back from the front lines.

I was a big fan of Colt.. but honestly anything can happen in the NFL with QBs.. you have two greats in Kurt Warner and Tom Brady and look where they came from.. then you have midgets like Grossman who were top of their class and complete wad wastes.

As far as the Bears drafting.. i'm never happy with what that drunk Angelo does... talking about rewarding character in the shyne-times today.. Its the NFL, I don't care if you have convicted felons on the line we don't need role models on the line.. Instead they pick a fookin rogue scholar'eske from Vandy thats a 6'6 300 pound pass blocker.. Thats all we need is Grossman airing it out... lousy bastard can't see down field over his lineman

Nick Hill from DQ high school signed as a FA.. played for SIU if anyone watched Flacco and him go at during playoffs this year in the 1AA we know that he is a contender. I'll pull a railbird and say I know the kid, but I do, I just don't see a future for him but I'm pullin for him to beef up a bit.. and maybe Orton quits all his outrageous drinking and decides he wants to be 1st string
Overall, I'll stay optimistic but if the D keeps playing 3 full quarters we won't have anyone healthy left

Eagles = C

Drafted 10 guys and probably only 4-5 will make the team.

Same thing happens every year, Reid likes to stockpile picks by trading down, but we already have a full roster.

I saw a stat on ESPN about the Eagles having drafted more Pro Bowlers in the last 5? years than any other team. Not you wharf... but I am so sick and tired of my hometown Philly fans beating On Andy Reid and McNabb. Andy has earned the right thru previous drafts to do what he wants and how he wants. Philly will be fine. Winston Justice coiuld evolve this year into the tackle we need.

If Chad Johnson becomes available, I have a gut feeling we will make a play for him to give us the big play rcvr. Other than that, Philly will be fine.

NFC EAST is always a dog fight and those who avoid injuries will have the best chance. Dallas is going to implode with soap opera drama this year. Pac Man Jones was the stupidest move of all time. They've got a mentally ill prima dona in TO, they've got an immature QB who has lost some credibility with teammates, and now they bring in a criminal. If Dallas loses 3 in a row somewhere this year, there could be a major melt down of epic proportions.

McNabb will return to form

Addressed needs in the secondary and got probably the steal of the draft as Manningham dropped to the 3rd round.
I'm ready to see how the other picks panned out since Jerry Reese had a great draft with basically all of last years draft played.

Texans: D

What a friggin' reach for the LT in R1, and then drafting Steve Slaton made me want to hurl.

Love the Xavier Adibi pick. Don't know why they bothered wasting a 7th round pick on Alex Brink when the 3 QBs are clearly Schaub, Rosenfels, and Gray.

I mean they may end up with a decent player from R1 and maybe that kid from Eastern Kentucky at CB will turn out ok in the long run, but all in all, I'm not impressed.

I was thinking F for passing on Mendenhall they make me want to throw up

Nah, it's not an F, beef. It certainly wasn't good, but it's not like a Detroit Lions draft where they constantly just keep filling the same need over and over again. There are potentially two starters in this bunch if Adibi is as good of a pick as I think he was. Replacing weak ass Charlie Anderson at weak side LB, or filling the safety spot, which I'm convinced has been the Texans downfall on defense since Year 1. Really thought they were targeting Kenny Phillips when they traded that far down in R1.

I'd give the Rams a C-, it would have been an F if not for Chris Long.

Steelers always draft good don't they?

Yep, were always pretty solid in drafting pretty well on the 1st day. If you look at our stars on the steelers, they are from the draft...we don't get over valued mid aged stars through trades like other money throwing owners.

I liked the way we went about the draft. Added some nice weapons on offense.
