Defines the PURPOSE of the board to its members so that neither member nor mediator "abuse" the "unwritten" rule.
LASTLY - not really a function of a good one but around here it would help...........
A person who can post up a fast synopsis of an "issue" (ie: player vs book) so others can comprehend WTF is going on. This board fills with PAST GRIPES that resurface and we are left with several threads that are active, but mean nothing to many of us. Although we may have input/solutions to add, we just cannot read over 50 pages of old dialogue to get the point.
Thus far I have felt that the mods here have done a good job. What I am not familiar with is the HEAVY politics that permeate this place and have ultimately led to lies, accusations and bannings. It is a shame because this forum SHOULD be here for bettors to help one another and protect our interests. What I am seeing more now than before is a board that is losing its "mentors" (old members who know the ropes) and is taking on more of aflavour of the Books themselves. Once a forum changes hands - once it becomes more of a conduit for the advertisers to control the posters - you have trouble. I have seen it in other areas outside of offshore gambling. trust me here.

They should be allowed to either
a) be allowed to offer their opinion on
matters WITHOUT any influence from
George Shrinkbrenner
OR
b) not be allowed to offer opinions at all -
just help keep the site working smoothly and
stay out of subjects where you can't give an
honest opinion.
All this crap about this book being good and that book not being good coming from guys who haven't a clue half the time is what makes the

THE SHRINK - A perfect mod probably doesn't exist.
The closest thing to a perfect Moderator is the Collection of the existing Mods you have here at the Rx. As there are too many things for one person to BALANCE.
As a whole the Rx Mods are the closest thing to a Perfect Moderator
