Browns WR core is much better...as is the Browns offense in general...they both will have weak D's

Browns ridiculously tough schedule will not allow them the playoffs this year..

Raves win the division..

PS
I hate Pukesburgh and why the hell are you a steelers fan in brooklyn?

Maddox is a little sketchy, IMO, and has to prove he was more than a one-hit wonder, but if he keeps it up I imagine they'll repeat last years performance, no more, no less. Bettis started to look tired last season and the 2nd stringer, forgot his name, wasn't very impressive. They basically got into the playoffs with their strong air attack, more or less... Their schedule this year looks tough, and all they did to help their D is draft a safety and a questionable linebacker. I don't have a lot of faith that they could possibly do any better this year. They made the Browns' offense look like the freaking '85 49ers in the playoffs.

I'm a Browns fan because I was born and raised 15 minutes outside of Cleveland.

Cleveland and Pittsburgh are very much alike..as far as cities go.. both blue collar towns.. but still .. I hate them.

Dante- Lifelong Steelers fan here and I know you are as well. I have to worry about the #1 injuries and #2 attitude. As you know, if Maddox and core players are healthy all season it is miraculous considering the key players the team has lost over the last few. If the defense can hold on early and develop the aggressive angry attitude toward winning we've come to know and expect then by the 2nd half of the season they will regain the swagger. I would expect nothing less from Cowher. One reason I love the Jazz and Steelers franchises is their coaches attitudes. Jerry Sloan and Bill Cowher are with organizations that stuck with them and their ability to exceed expectations (considering injuries esp). That ability is based on their hard nosed "grind it out" philosophy. So I expect Cowher to demand that effort even with injury. How far they go depends on the attitude matched with the luck of a healthy team. I'm looking forward to it and we'll have to discuss some things during the season. Do you get Steelers Digest? I'm waiting to see how the roster cuts down in coming weeks. I get it late out west here. GL PITT Boys! jaygordo

i think the key to steelers season is their running game.

both bus and zereoue has to be healthy and play run than the pass

this wide open off is not pittball. it creates too much time for the pitt def and secondary on the field. they need to control the clock and move the chains. maddox strength is his playaction but bus and amos has to have good yards 1st down.

The Steelers will do the same thing they have done every year for the past 5 or so. Beat up on inferior competition and have a winning record, go to the playoffs and take a prompt exit, and then noone will question Bill Cowher because he is such a "good" coach. Seriously though, I want to see Charlie Batch play this year so I can see if he was that bad in Detroit, or was it just the team and bad coaching.

Hey Guys..

As a life long Steeler fan that grew up 30 miles from downtown Pittsburgh and also attended many a game at old Forbes Field, I can tell you the sentiment in this area...

Bill Cowher SUCKS!!

I'm sick of hearing the choir preaching the same old "Song and Dance" about how Cowher supposedly gets the most out of the Steelers when considering that they lose soooooo many top players year in and year out..

Ahhhhhhh excuse me but..

Doesn't the rest of the teams that make up the NFL work under and adhere to the very same free agency structure and salary cap that Cowher and the Steelers do?

The truth of the matter folks is that Cowher took over the reins from former HC Chuck Noll and was left with a closet full of excellent young talent that allowed Cowher to reach the playoffs in Billy Boys first six consecutive seasons and also produced a trip to the Pooper Bowl, which of course resulted in a loss to Dallas.

Another factor that contributed to Cowhers early success in Steeltown was the fact that the head of personel was Tom Donahoe who was an excellent talent evaluator during this same six year period, Donahoe was responsible for drafting and signing many of the big time players that traveled thru Pittsburgh.

One of the main reasons why the Steelers had trouble re-signing so many key players stemmed from the fact that Cowher was dogged in his defense of having Kordell Stewart under center as his QB, departing players made comments about not wanting to be in the same locker room or shower for that matter with Stewart.

Cowher and Tom Donahoe had been on the outs for a couple of seasons over the fact that Cowher wanted more power and wanted more of a say so in who got drafted and signed as free agents.

The proverbial straw that broke the camels back happened over the fact that Donahoe did not want to re-sign Stewart to a long term contract and Cowher did, Steeler owner Dan Rooney backed Cowher over personal director Tom Donahoe ( Donahoe had been with the Steeler organization since first joining them during his childhood as a ball boy ).

Donahoe resigned, the Steelers fell into obscurity by not making the playoffs for three consecutive seasons, but Stewart remained under center...go figure.

During Cowhers rein in Pittsburgh, the Steelers have won their division title no less than SEVEN TIMES!!

Some would say that winning your division 7 times is a remarkable feat and must mean that the team is headed up by an excellent coach..

I beg to differ tho, and especially so since Cowher was only able to get the Steelers to advance ONE TIME to the Pooper Bowl after winning those 7 titles!!

Then there is the sticky matter of LOSING four AFC Championship games...and THREE of them were played in Pittsburgh!!

Obviously, what happened to the Steelers and their failed Pooper Bowl bids under Cowher stems from the fact that the Black and Gold were able to advance easily each season thru a rather weak division, however, when Cowher was pitted against a decent team with a decent HC come playoff time, Cowher got outcoached each and every time.

I really do not see the Steelers advancing to another Pooper Bowl as long as Cowher is the HC, the Steelers former head of personel Tom Donahoe is currently heading up the Buffalo organization and I would be willing to make a side wager that the Bills will advance and win a Ring before the Steelers will under Cowher.

take care my friends and be well

Jim

As long as Cowher's there you can bet they'll advance to the playoffs and win at least one playoff game. Doesn't matter who's on the team. After that I'd say everything's 50-50. I haven't looked at the futures yet but I'd consider the Steelers at 4-1 for the AFC Championship and 8-1 for the SB.

My concern about the steelers is that leeky secondary from last year that didn't get a facelift. They have a good core of veterans with Cowher and are layoff contenders again.
