Because of FISA, it is supposedly illegal for The NSA to participate in "Domestic Spying". We all know this is untrue though. The National Security Agency (NSA) and other agencies like The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Federal Buereau of Investigation (FBI) are outsourcing their domestic spying and intelligence gathering through third party companies. This is so they can get around laws that "they themselves" are not spying on US citizens, but in fact another company is and they are simply purchasing the data which I presume to be a "grey area" in the law.

One such company who is doing this is River Glass Inc. who boasts on their website the capabilities they can do. I encourage all to visit the latter link to River Glass's website and see for yourself. This is big business and a violation of Federal Law. I urged you all to write you congressmen if you are a US Citizen with regard to this. This is wrong and essentially WE TAXPAYERS are paying government agencies to have 3rd party companies spy on us in our own country.

A Few resources you can write to are:

The Electronic Forntier Foundation
Write your Represenative

PS - Dr. Bruce Ivins, the anthrax scientist was killed by The CIA in case you were wondering. He didn't commit suicide. Dr. Bruce Ivins situation is only history repeating itself, the same thing happened to "ironically" another Ft. Deatirck Scientist, Dr. Frank Olson 40 years previous. But another thread can be started for that.

The United States is getting out of hand and it is time for a change!

The official word is that Dr. Ivins poisoned himself with acetaminophen which is the ingredient in Tylenol. This type of poisoning can take days and can be agonizing. Why would someone who is well-versed in ways to painlessly poison ones self poison himself in such a painful way??

I had a student in one of my classes that was former NSA. He said much of what your article says, that the NSA can spy on US citizens through 3rd parties. He also said that there are some things that are true that the public could never come to grips with if the facts were made public. I said "you mean aliens"? He said he could neither confirm nor deny that.

QL... Very true. Let me start a new thread on Dr. Ivins. As for the NSA are spying on us, as in US citizens living in the states. River Glass Inc. is just one of the many "fronts" for their efforts. This needs to be stopped. There should be no "proxies" in government, either you are a fed or your are not. You can't wear two hats and be safe from immunity.

From River Glass Inc's Website

Below is a quote from River Glass Inc's Website:

"Automatically seek out and monitor websites that relate to criminal investigations or other intel needs. Information posted to the Internet from diverse sources like CNN, MSNBC, Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League, and Department of Justice, as well as sites that post threatening or criminal content is critical to effective data analysis. The Web, however, is expanding at an exponential rate and analysts are faced with extreme information overload. RiverGlass tools allow analysts to activate searches that intelligently and continuously scan the web for information relevant to them and their organization. Because of its access to the context of an organization through a customized ontology, RiverGlass tools can more quickly discover where relevant content exists."

I think the government invented the internet and they had in mind ways of spying on us way before we used the net like we do today.

I think there is a certain amount of paranoia going on here. If the boogie men want to spy on me, I say go right ahead. It won’t take but a couple of days before the boredom gets to them and they move on.

They did invent the internet. 1960's DARPANET. And no, I am not some nut case that thinks the internet was built to spy on Americans. It was built to link the DoD sites and Universities together. Later, this was found to be a big security issue. Read the book "The Cuckoo's Egg".

Not paranoia, but fear. If someone posts "CIA" on a web forum, they should not have "proxy companies" like River Glass Inc searching a website and mapping your relations to other people to sell the the NSA, CIA, or FBI. The FBI should do their own work. Why should Americans pay to have themselves spied on?

The Feds can kick down my doors all they want. I have nothing to hide. I could care less. But my concern is, when is enough? When is it too much? I do not want a real world George Orwell 1984.

The goal of my posts are not to scare people. I don't want people paranoid. I just want people to be informed, consider alternative thinking, and question what the media and the government is doing.

If one chooses to think I am paranoid or luney, so be it. I will let them remain complacent and continue on with their lives. I won't call them names or attack them in a forum because that is not my goal. My goal is to change the way America has become. And bring back the America that was at peace, happy, and thriving in the world markets.

You cannot believe what one person says in an internet forum, but you can at least take the time to read what that person is trying to convey, then make you opinion. Conclusions are made from multiple pieces of evidence and facts, not from what one person or entity states. In our case the media and the government are ONE entity now.
