The NFL has some of the dumbest owners on the planet, yes they are billionaires, & are very smart in making money in other avenues, but are football stupid.......how in the world did the Browns organization ever think Manziel would equal as a decent qb in the NFL is beyond me.
Cardale Jones is way better than Manziel but I wouldn't draft Jones at all on my team.
I would be all over Winston before choosing any other qb from this years coming draft.
I'm interested to see how Mariota plays in the NFL.......I think Winston will make a better NFL qb......
Football IQ & how you read defenses is very important. The NFL is a completely different animal than college, & most times these college qbs are out of their element after making the jump to the NFL.......

It's called sports talkshow radio. What else should they talk about after Jones led them to beat the #1 and 2 ranked college teams? None of the radio shows I listen to actually said Jones is ready. It's just TALK

First of all before everyone starts annointing Cardale Jones the 2nd coming of Johnny Unitas you have to remember he is a fit for the system. A system where one rusher has rushed for over 200 yds a game himself, 3 GAMES IN A ROW THAT JONES PLAYED. That takes a lot of heat off the QB because teams have to respect both the run and the pass. He has made plays but Urban Meyer was fine with him because he works in the system.
People were proclaiming QB JT Barrett the same way but if one looks at JT Barrett's stats against the 5 best defenses he faced he was only hitting 54% and had I believe 12 interceptions against those 5 teams.
Jones is not ready for the NFL and talk of him turning pro has to be some joke...

Cardale won the NC. He was impressive doing so. He's eligible for the draft being a 3rd year soph. He's tall, mobile, strong and pretty good at throwing a pass.

but considering Ryan Lindley started a few games in the NFL, there will always be teams looking to sign a guy like Cardale......even if not to start immediately

You are a powerful man Bernie. Lots of these kids throw a few really nice passes and all of a sudden people what to name them All-Pro.
Jones threw several deep passes that amounted to “up for grabs”..... almost like Hail Mary’s. You don't complete many of those in the NFL.
Also....... when you lower your shoulder in the interior of the defense...... well, that's why they keep those mobile vehicles on hand to cart guys off the field.
