You placed your first bet and did it go through? I know it might be hard to remember but i wouldin't mind reading some of your guys experiances. I was 18 and it was on the Vikings vs. Packers wild card game, being a Packer fan and a total square back then i bet pack for $300 because i thought it was easy money since Favre never lost at home in those contitions. Btw i placed the bet through a friend who called the bookie.
Now im 20 and a lot of those posts that i read about money management really do help me because im in this phase where i just want to win lots of cash quick while we all know thats not right way.

i was 18 and i had a local bookie who worked at the bowling alley. played 50 a game .

i moved to florida when i was 22 and stayed for 8 months. move back home to michigan and asked my mom of all people if she could ask around work if anybody knew any bookies. she drove a school bus so i figured their had to be driver who took action. i was right . pounded him for a football season and moved back to florida and been here 20 years now.

gotta love mom...

Horses around 11 yrs old. It was in a clubhouse at Keeneland and my grandfather let me go to the windows and place wagers for him and myself. I guess 25 yrs ago, they didn't worry as much about underage gambling.

My friend and I use to bet in our saturday morning duckpin bowling league 3 games, 3 bucks a game...Also use to 'match' quarters (all my lunch money) started in 6th grade...spent a few days not having any lunch because I lost it...I can still feel that 'rush' of possibly losing my lunch money lol...

First football bets were on NFL 3 team 10 point teasers...I couldn't believe how 'easy' it seemed when I heard I got 10 points on top of the spread...lol , hey it seemed so easy!

Late bloomer, here. I was 27 when I played my first sports lottery, and 31 when I made my first bet with a bookie for fifty bucks which I lost.

Not quite sure I follow you here. The first time they've ever played each other in the playoffs was 2 weeks ago. Definitely not 2 years ago. Vikes were firing their coach and missing the playoffs.

I think I was 12 or 13 and I remember the day just not the year. I bet a harness horse that had the rail in Lewiston, Maine called Chicken Bawk Bawk. It was in the middle of January and cold as hell up there. He was 10-1, and wired the field, and paid 22.40 or 22.60. So I cashed the very first bet I ever made. A definate bad sign there.

But I bet the horse for a long time after that. THAT is the best way to go broke. Even when you cheat you can't keep a bank roll. Greed kills you there. It is basically feast or famine. One day you can cash 3 or 4 grand, the next you might lose all that. Unless you hit a Pic 6 or a twin tri or something it is more of a grind than sports for sure.

Probably about 10. My dad used to let me bet an occasional 1 or 2 dollar parlay or birdcage on the horses.Gambling always was accepted in my family whether pitching pennies, playing poker, or betting on horses or sports. Not sure it was good as I lost a lot in my early years of gambling.

14 years old I was running NFL weekly pools and playoff pools and NCAA bracket tourneys at school then when I hit 16 I took bets on horses at the track and would leave high school in the am to run to the track and make all the wagers and come back around lunch. I would pay out the previous day's winnings in the afternoon or after school. I kept 20 percent of the winnings and made a good chunk of change (went to a country club type high school with a lot of kids that had a lot of money to waste).
