I can't imagine it's a big problem the way they are on TV all the time and probably want to keep their job. Do they still have trousers with fully sewed up pockets?

It happens from time to time General. The risks certainly outweigh the rewards, though. You will never work in gaming again if caught, and they prosecute gaming cheats worse than murderers here.

I would suspect there is tight security here. I mean a player could buy in 20,000 in chips and the dealer could slide him 25,000 no?

No general sir. All monies, especially on a large transaction are spread out across felt, turned over and respread out. On a big one, the pitboss is over the dealer's shoulder, when they yell, changing $20,000. He notifies eye in sky, who usually have film running on large action table anyway. They tape the entire transaction. so you have two sets of eyes on that dealer. I have seen dealer's work with players, flashing hole on 21...But between the school taught hand rolls, to the shift relief and counts, the money does not get lost. Best wishes...OF

Slow day at the ranch I see.

If he is using a marker, same thing, changing $20,000.

General,
I can tell you of a few cases where that kind of thing has happened on a smaller scale. Maybe 125 for 100 or something. But each amount is verified and no large amount like you are talking about would ever get approved or gotten away with, without many people being in collusion.

Best way to rob casino, is blackjack dealers paying player on losers and then chop it up later.

Another scam is player gets 16 vs face card, player refuses to decalre hit or stand but instead insults dealer and pitboss until told to leave casino and is bailed out of 16vs face card situation.

On paying losers, dealer has excuse of bad math and will avoid trouble.

There was a guy at the Mirage or Bellagio sportsbook who stole over 100k and was stupid enough to try and disguise himself and lost the money back in the same casino. This is no b.s.

Rail,

Right on as usual...the best situations are when the dealer has a 5(or more)-card 21 and treats it as a bust, or the player has a 5(or more)-card 22 and they treat is as a 21. Dealers tend to have 3- and 4-card combinations rolled up in memory but 5 and up they have to count and that's easy to screw up.

Almost all theft involves dealers working with scammers. It goes beyond paying losers off, although that is probably one of the biggest ones. Craps is an easy one, an extra chip can easily "slip" or dealer could get the wrong color. In a game with almost no house edge to begin with, just one mis-pay an hour and the game is a positive EV for the player so very discretely a dealer could give a crony plenty of extra chips and hard to imagine it being exposed as cheating.

Yes paying BlackJack as a winner when actually a loser or what happened to me! I bet a thousand in black Jack , got Black Jack dealer had a picture card and payed me without checking for black jack herself! Well I was paid my 1500$ went around the table and wouldn't you know she revealed an ACE! Within 1 minute the pit boss got a phone call and removed her immediately and said to me you know what she did and I can't take it back as you pulled the chips away! You better hope she doesn't know you or both of you will be in a shit load of trouble! Right now she has no job the pit boss said and thats the best that can come of this for her! I'm sure people get paid when they shouldn't on a smaller play but on a large play, you never know!!

If Danny Vermin from the movie "Johnny Dangerously" were a casino owner, he'd say:

"I caught a dealer cheating once...ONCE!"
