A successful friend and client, who owns his own business recently had his group plan cancelled by the Aetna because they said his "group was too small". He shopped around, couldn't find a an insurance company that would take him as a group. So he has to purchase individual policies made more complicated by the fact that employees live in separate states. All problems created by the democrats, but not the reason for my post.

his wife has breast cancer, she's cancer free for about 9 months but far from being out of the woods. Her doctors are at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. So here's where the problem arises, CT Insurance Exchanges don't cover out of state doctors, and she's no longer covered for such doctors at the end of the month. They are frantically searching for an option that will enable her to continue to go to NYC for treatment

Back when this monstrosity was first dumped on the public, I really wondered whether we'd see a spike in Americans relocating. If you currently reside in NY and have a special medical need, yet can only find a special service provider in Butt Fuck, Arkansas...well, your options are either relocate or croak. Except what happens if that specialist decides to move or retire...are you expected to just chase your doctor around the country?

They could not care any less about the seemingly endless list of stories similar to this one. Advancing the party's agenda comes first and foremost. Any "collateral damage" like this is just a minor speed bump to them.

Open up purchasing health insurance across State lines to promote competition and enact tort reform.

Both would have had the desired affect of lower costs.
