I am finally breaking down and getting the Iphone. Verizon doesn't offer unlimited whatever it is anymore, so now you buy gb's. There is a 2gb, 4gb, 8 then 10 i think. I use the internet a little, but mostly text, but do email quite a bit on my blackberry i use now. i get on facebook about 3-4x a week too.

So, is 2gb good? it's $30 for 2gb, then jumps to $50, but it is $10 per gb over the plan you choose.

make sense? lol

You can use WIFI and then you save the data for when you use the internet via the 4g. I am do an upgrade but I am going to pay full price for the Ip 5 and maintain my unlimited data. It really depends how much you use the 4g surfing and downloading.I use my iphone to stream lots of sports so I want to keep my unlimited service

Ok, that makes sense. I didn't know you can use the wifi. Most places I go have Wifi, so the smaller gig is proally ok. They are changing these phones so much nowadays cell phone bills are outrageous. $250 is stupid, that is 3 phones, but still stupid

Make sure you set up WiFi from your Home. That way as soon as you walk in the door it jumps to your WiFi
Then when you go somewhere that has wifi, jump on that.

Will save you a lot on your Data plan.

If you aren't downloading a lot of crap or playing games that use 3g, 2gb will be fine to browse the web and use the internet a decent amount of time. But like they all said, just use the wifi where ever you go and it won't count towards the 2gb.

2gb is plenty for someone who rarely uses internet like yourself.. u take ur laptop everywhere I assume!

the other guys are right.. if u have wifi on at all times possible u will not even dent that 2gb with your typical use. there is only one problem with your entire deal here.

BigBet I have unlimited.

I dont watch much video on mine, but I surf the web and e-mail ALL the time. I mean a bunch. I have speak to write so many times when I post here, I am on my phone, not a PC. Very easy to do, you justbtalk and it writes it out. Anyhow, I use about 3 gig a mth, and never use Wifi. my guess is I could cut that back to well under 2 gig if I allowed it to hook up to wifi.

You don't have to pay full price to maintain unlimited

I called Verizon and they said if I bought a IP5 they will take away my unlimited plan on that number because they no longer offer it. They said if I pay full price for the phone I can keep the unlimited data. Do you know of another way?

im sure chop has another inside idea but why not buy the phone for cheaper on ebay/amazon/etc and then just get it setup on verizon as per normal.. then no contracts have been adjusted and more than likely u got a way better deal than verizon even - $100 probably :)

You lose your unlimited if you ask verizon to switch the service to a new phone that you own. (that is what they told me)

dont quote me on this as I havent changed phones for a while.. but I do believe u can call a number and/or do it yourself online (change from phone to phone).. since u havent changed a contract in either of those scenarios nor agreed to they cannot change your phone plan and just choose whatever gb's for u right? ( i believe they told u this other bs because u Asked them directly.. when u avoid them completely it cant happen because u havent said I AGREE to any contractual changes)...

I do believe as long as u dont change your contract and only the phone in use.. it cannot be a problem.. here is why i believe this....

pretend u already have the iphone 4 or an android phone and are still grandfathered old plan not the new sharing bs... u drop the phone in water/break it/etc.. unusable.. u decide ur way too broke to buy a new one.. so u plug in ur old android/or even lg 0 (lol) and ask verizon to switch u over..(through calling/online/talking live to help..whatever).. in no way in hell (IMO) are they going to then make u change ur plan and take on different contracts because of your mishap.. u dropped a phone and lost 400$.. no way do they punish u worse and/or if u fight it they just wont.

this is just my thoughts because I am pretty damn good on the phone and highly doubt they could win this argument with me... :)!/

worth a try. I called customer loyalty and they gave me a hard time. They said if I upgrade the phone to IP5 I will lose unlimited data. They said there is nothing that they could do. I told them I will switch carriers....Thats probably what I will do since my contract has expired. Sprint has unlimited data, but their customer service blows

Sounds like someone feeding you BS at Verizon.

Technically you are renewing your "established plan", phone shouldn't matter.....
