I did it years ago, and could do $100 a night in a weekend, it wasn't easy, and I was 20+ years younger.

Just spoke to the GM of the Cracker Barrel here, place was freaking PACKED at 3pm on Wednesday and he said it was a slow day. Lol. Busiest cracker barrel in the US he said, it was insane. Lol. A wait at 3pm on a Wednesday!

They pay $8.25hr + tips, and he said no tip outs, servers get 100% of tips. He said you get a 3 table section, and it is constant.

I calculate, even if you get 10% on average, and it is 40% in cash tips, tax free, $20hr+ should be easy. And I'm moving, getting exercise, and meeting people from all over. Seems like a nice little part time gig for the time being.

Better than being in a smoky sportsbook, or beating your car to death with Uber.

I would rather bartend, money usually at least as good.

You can easily make 200+ in a night waiting tables, but I would never wait tables somewhere like cracker barrel. You want somewhere with higher end clientele, wine, and steaks; somewhere where the average ticket is more than $50 with a table full of jackwagons that are gonna run you around for a hundred diet coke refills and then leave you a 5 spot.

Probably hard to find something good without much experience there, but if you interview well you might could do it.

I'd love to bartend, but they want experience and tits out here. I'm thinking a $100 min per shift.

I'd rather deal with middle class, to lower class than some high end place.

Just because the checks high, doesn't mean you get the 20%

I look at it like a 1% edge on BJ. The rules are better in a place like cracker barrel, full of middle class tourist. A high end place had not so good rules, think H S17. I'm thinking $30hr isn't unrealistic at all, and less stress than dealing with some high end trust fund ass

You need 3 different cards to bartend, and experience. I'd son that in a heart beat, be fun as hell. I have applied, but all want experience.

Cracker barrel isn't the #1 place, but it could work for 2-3 months to give me time to figure out if I'm staying, or heading back to Cincy.

You got it backwards. It's poor people that will run you around hard and then don't know how to tip.

Also there's the pussy factor. Not sure what your current situation is, but lots of pussy in restaurants.

I'm single, and plan to be for sometime. Just got out a relationship with a Narcissit. Worse experience of my life, hands down. I wouldn't wish that shit on Enfuego.

Yeah, get in somewhere serving, show you are a hard worker, and then express a desire to train behind the bar.

I dunno man, I remember years ago, I use to get the best tips from blacks. Lol. They were notorious for not tipping. All the other servers would give the tables away. Ha. In think it's all how you treat someone.

There's bad toppers every where, but a tourist spot right off I-15 via LA could be good.

Again, I don't have experience or age on my side. But if love to give bartending a shit before I get much older.

How about a poker dealer. You always get $1 per hand. I would imagine 30 hands a hour plus your wage just for shuffling some cards around.

Im surprised at how Cracker Barrel is still so crowded. Place isn't half as good as it used to be. But,I guess that can be said for a lot
of places these days. Prices go up,portion size, quality, and service go down...

I guess they have their overpriced candy and stuff in their store in their favor as well. Peeps flock to it...

I think the one that BB is talking about is very new (and the only one around for a while), so that might be one of the reasons they are so busy. If we are talking about the same one, it is basically in the Silverton parking lot and right off the 15. I saw the billboard about the lunch specials recently (i've never been to a cracker barrell though....might check it out)!

Friends worked at Chilis and were making around $200 a night on the Thurs/Frid/Sat shifts. You can make good money but you have to give up going out on those nights

i'd vote for ticket writer at the southpoint....they actually seem like they are happy, personable folks

they were recently training new writers (the girls that do the bowling bracket payouts) over the last couple weeks so they either were or are staffing up for football

also the dispenseries around town have to be swamped with the recreational sales starting, so you might be able to find some work there (checking IDs, stocking, or as a budtender if you have experience in that area)

Did not read this whole thread but remember the clientele you are mostly dealing with...over 60 and NOT GOOD TIPPERS, and very needy...

I would look elsewhere...
