Uhh no zit. I posted a link to ONE video. Again ONE video. Let me hear your response. Since you are the one calling me an idiot lets stop lying about what link i posted...watch it...and give me your response.

You're so stupid you can't even post a youtube video correctly. Ask anyone else on here if they get one video if they click on it.

Besides, why can't you argue in your own words instead of posting some video? Sigh.

You make some valid points. I can see how those that market certain degrees can be misleading. What did your mom think she was going to do with a BA in Psychology?
I think there is a whole litany of degrees that are fairly useless in making money: psychology, sociology, political science, education (most liberal arts degrees). I think they
can be a good basis for further education, like law school - but a BA in sociology isn't going to get you much money coming out of school - that's something that
kids I would think would know going in at 17?

"In today's world a college degree is equal to a HS dipoma. It's overhyped, too expensive and you are going to tell me a text book has to cost $200. "

Any BS degree in engineering, math or most sciences is not equal to a high school diploma.

If I could go back in time I would do engineering. All In all I would do it again, because I would know what to do go for, and I had a blast in college. I do think its misleading.. Also, I think people, more my generation have this feeling of entitlement. That if we do this we get that, and that's not how it works. I constantly have to remind myself that, but we I was younger it is how I felt.

My mom went got her Pysc degree because she had all intentions to get her Masters but she doesn't think she has the energy for it now. Which makes her degree a waste. I did warn her though...

But I think we are at an understanding of this issue. It's a warning that those about to go to college need to realize. There is only a handful of bachelor degrees you should even consider if you are not getting a Masters. Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Nursing and maybe a couple of others but it's limited.. pretty much any degree that gives you a SKILL and not just knowledge.... Avoid all liberal arts, and even the english and history... Otherwise you might as well get sports management degree

Agreed... unless you're going in with the understanding that as a liberal arts major you may do something you love, you just won't be able to get as high of a salary as you might want. Some people are ok with that, and that's cool too...

Hmmm...that link works on my smartphone. HERE is the destop link that will work.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpZtX32sKVE.

Respond Zit.

Stupid thing is over an hour long, I watched 40 seconds, and already can tell it's bullshit. In the first 40 seconds, the video claims that kids are scammed going into college
because they are told that they can get any dream job they want in their field of study, and will be able to buy any car and any house. Anyone who thinks that way deserves to be disillusioned.

Don't waste my time. Distill your argument into a paragraph or less.

Dude, everyone in this forum knows who the (sic) "igmorant" one is. Quit while you are ahead.

I told you, write a coherent argument in one paragraph and we'll all read it. I'm not going to waste an hour of my time on your propaganda.

Let me tell you something else. In some of my grad school classes, I was the only white/American guy. Everyone else in the class was either Indian (dot not feather) or Asian. Do you think it was this way because the white/American students were smart enough to not be there because they realized it was a scam?

No, it's because in general American students are lazy asses, and are getting their asses kicked by the rest of the world scholastically. My son who is in the 7th grade got to go to an award ceremony two weeks ago at Texas A&M because he scored in the top 5% on the SATs (yes that is correct) for students in the Duke TIP program.

Guess what? 80+% of the kids getting awards were either Asian or Indian.

I guarantee you that every single one of those Asian and Indian students I went to grad school with is successfully employed, and not complaining like a fucking pussy that they were scammed by going to college.

Going to grad school. Going VERY deep into debt for my MBA. However, the school is one of the world's elite so I am not that worried.

but we all understand what it's like to eat 24 hot dogs in 10 mins. for a living? yea, right
For a college graduate who doesn't know the difference between "of" and "have," perhaps he was scammed

It's not only the cost, the big problem with college is the opportunity cost. Take everything spent on tuition, fees, books, room and board or commuting, et cetera, and invest it. Then have an additional four years to earn income and move up in the workforce. Vast majority of college degrees aren't worth that much. Because it is virtually impossible for a 17-year-old to understand what it means to spend $50 000 or $100 000, nor any clue what they can even do with their lives, I'll agree they are ripping off their customers
