we had a toy fox terrier form 2002-2006 we got him as a stray he was 4 or so when we got him
long story short he had diabetes developed cataracts evertually went blind...we spent in those 4 years just over 55k ..he was on insulin twice a day got fluids in the morning...had eye surgeries...had a pancreas issue that kept him hospitla for a week........and then at the end we would have to take him in once a week and he would stay in an oxygen tube( his lungs were getting fluid)......it was a lot he was our baby though
have a pit /lab mix now and would do the same for her

How much do you spend trying to save a pet's life before giving up and just letting them die?

I have a mastiff so am gonna have to spring for hip surgery one of these days. Whatever is required. The cost will be worth it.
