Posters,

I have been an avid fan of SEC sports for a very long time and am definitely enjoying the season thus far. (Outside of the Jodie Meeks show.) I watch ESPN pretty religiously and look at bracketology in January, but still have questions about this SEC basketball show I have seen thus far.

The teams look to be down and out, that hurts to say;

Tennessee is not getting anything done defensively and I can definitely see that hurting them again vs. teams like Florida, Kentucky, or Mississippi State. The teams that can throw up the points on them will be very successful.

Florida is 16-3 and has had a tremendously easy schedule up to this point. The one point loss could effect the play of them in the following game Saturday and maybe let them start to slip from the top.

Still with all of that said I think that four or five of the SEC teams will make it to the tomorrow.

Kentucky
Florida
Mississippi State
Tennessee

That is the list I can come up with right now. Anyone else got one?

The only tournament teams i see is Kentucky, and then you have Tennessee and Florida by default. This my be the biggest down year of all time for any major conference. Just not much talent their. The best team in the SEC would be lucky to finish in 10th in the Big East

There is no doubt, the Southeastern Conference is "down" this year; Tennessee, to date has been somewhat of a disappointment and Donavan is trying to rebuild at Florida.
Vanderbilt is so-so at best.

It is early however and a couple of these teams might "try" to make a move (Kentucky/LSU). At this time, I don't see any Cinderella team emerging.

Time will tell.

Vanderbilt is far from so so...They couldn't score on Tenn at home in an important game. This team is bad

Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida will get in. If the winner of the west is 11-5 or better they will likely get a bid.

Tennessee and Kentucky IMO are definites, I think LSU will come out of the West. Florida and South Carolina will duke it out for the fourth spot. Florida has no marquee wins and South Carolina has beaten Baylor. Outside of Baylor though, SC hasn't really played anyone and won. Both will have to finish with legit records in the SEC to make it.

I just went to Realtimerpi.com, and was actually surprised by how low the Conference's RPI is.

Now I believe the RPI is an over used and abused tool. It was supposed to be just one variable in the mix, now it's become gospel. The selection committee relies heavily on RPI, which is why I cite it when looking at tournament possibilities.

The conference RPI is 9th. Only two teams are on the right side of that RPI bubble right now, TN & FL. I believe UK would be picked too, even with an RPI of 57.

There are a few more bubble teams, but they better play their way in from here on out.

Five of the SEC teams are top 30 or better at this point in the season and I think Hopson's play will determine whether or not Tennessee can start to beat the Florida's and Kentucky's in this conference.

Conference is down but top tier teams would still finish better than 10th in the Big East. That is a little too much now LOL.

hello,

i think LSU makes it in, and the SEC will be between Florida and LSU.... after LSU beats Xavier on saturday at home for their 18th straight home win, LSU should be on people's map. Last three games have had huuuge victories 30points over ole miss, and miss state last night, then 3 games ago beat south carolina by 17.

but yea i think 4 is the MAX the SEC will get in...likely 3 will make it in.

Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky, and whoever wins the SEC West crown (Miss St, LSU, Bama, Arkansas).
