Just trying to get an idea.

For a long time I've wondered why such a contest has not been held.

A few years ago I almost had 3 Sports Books come together for the first time ever on a contest and commit to this one since it was unique, but one backed out of the agreement and it fell apart.

A contest which would obviously last a while and include NFL/NCAA, NBA/NCAA, MLB, and possibly NHL if some were in favor of it.

Each participant would post up ahead of time to form the pot as with any contest.

A required number of plays would have to be made for each sport, for example:

25 total plays for NFL
25 total plays for NCAA FB
25 total plays for NBA
25 total plays for NBCAA BB
25 total plays for MLB
NHL ?

Yes it would be grueling, but interesting.
And since money has to be put up before-hand, if someone bails out, all of the prize money is guaranteed.

Who would be willing to commit and what amount would you recommend be put forth to build a wealthy prize-pool?

As have I... But I think we could do it.

Since it's lengthy, the post up should be worhthwile.

So you are in if it happens #1?[/QUOTE

probably not now.. i seem to do better with any picks that i make, when no one knows who i've picked.

I'm game. I think I have an idea how to work the Football picks, but the BBall and MLB may be a little more tricky, especially baseball. I could do without NHL, unless you wanna add MMA. :)

I agree the prize will be a tricky part...

25 NFL plays seems like a lot compared to the 25 MLB plays...
I see why you suggest that, so one sport doesn't weigh more heavily than another...

Definitely no NHL, I think that would turn away too many people.

Think a good entry would be about $250, or roughly $5/week. It depends on how many you anticipate would participate. Say that 5x fast now. lol High end, I would say $5/pick, so in your example, it would be 125 picks x $5 = $625.

I personally think a fake money system per week in each sport chosen may work best.

I would guess that the Start of MLB Season would be the best time to start this, because it gives the largest window for people to get in. If 2014 MLB is the first sport, then people that come around for football season can still get in given that 25 games could be knocked out in the final month/playoffs.

Then we'd have the NFL season and NCAAF season of 2014, then the basketball season of 14-15 to end it.

I agree. I just don't see how you do MLB without a Fake money system. The lines are just too lopsided to make thinks consistent as -110. In other words, the juice is the most important part in MLB, and no way to track how good MLB plays are without tracking units.

absolutely, MLB record is so misleading, I hit .500 in MLB last year, and I had my best year every because of the sport.

I think a bankroll tracking may be a way to do it, but i think that's why Hache put this out here to get interested and also create the best contest possible.

I'd be interested. But is there a way to transfer money without all your personal information being known?

If you didn't want to ****** it or send a check to the person(s) holding the funds, you could maybe western union it with a different name...
