There are obviously alot more bets with small edges than there are ones with large edges, so they significantly add to turnover. Skipping them knowlingly is is just silly (it's no different than passing up on free money). A higher winrate/ROI does not make a more profitable bettor.

well said. if its value, its value. do not pass up a good bet just to limit your number of plays. a really good capper, one that can consistently find an edge in the line a book offers, will usually play several games on a full day of baseball. its not anything like capping baseball or basketball.

I for one bet wayyyy too many games. When I call my bookie he just huffs and puffs cause he knows I have a big card. I always call him at busiest times I think! I agree with bigshot though, if you do find value in them you have to bet em! Well, I do anyways, tomorrow will be a huge card for me and like today I had one and lost big but Friday had the same thing and won. I have no $ management at all. When I look at my card I want to WIN em ALL! I want my book and bookie to think im stupid then go 10-1! I do however believe down the road if you bet alot you end up losing. I will end up toning it down come 2 weeks from now and focus on the long run instead of "now" money. Good luck to all of us tomorrow! There is alot and I mean ALOT of tricky games out there!!!!!!!!!

I honestly don't feel that this is even a valid question. It really doesn't matter how many plays you make in 1 day if they all have value. What's the difference in betting 5 plays for 3 straight days, or 15 plays in 1 day. If you can find the value in the game, bet it regardless of how many other games are out there pending. Each game is independent of one another, and you don't want to miss good opportunities. This is where a solid bankroll and many outs comes in handy. I have routinely made 7-9 plays each day this season, but only when I have found value. That's the key, and I will continue to make many plays if the value is present....especially in April when the lines are weakest.

Of course you can find value on somedays on MANY PLAYS, but NOT EVERY DAY...Let's not lose focus of my point here.

I m talking about people who day in and day out have a ton of plays.

'IF" the value is there....big difference from, making 8 plays, then having 3 rainouts and finding 3 more you like lol.

2 to 5 a day never lay more then -150

setting arbitrary limits for yourself is the WORST thing a handicapper can do...

there are plenty of days when there are only 1 or 2 decent plays on the board (or maybe even none)...

and conversely, there are days when there are 8 or 9 good plays on the board...

NEVER get into the habit of setting rules for yourself!

while it's true that no one ever got rich by laying -200 on every play, there are times when the best play of the day just might be a -180 or -200 favorite! it WILL happen every now and then...

if you get into the habit of setting arbitrary rules and limits for yourself, all you're doing is costing yourself money!

Anyone ever found yourself with just crumbs left in an account after a big losing streak? It's amazing how you start picking winners with those few crumbs left. I've had $10 left in an account before and before long it had $400+ in it. It's amazing what you can do when you're forced to be selective.
