If they play this game 5 times, do you believe Pittsburgh wins 4? If so you’ve got yourself a overlay and no reason not to bet it.

Pinnacle opened it at -380. Hasn’t moved but it could by tomorrow. It’s hard for me to think it won’t get two way action at -380/+330 so I don’t see the line moving to -400. It’ll go down if anything.

I’m not entirely convinced that betting Pittsburgh is a square play. I doubt I’d take it at that price for the full game but minus the .5 in regulation will be around -300. Still a +EV wager in my opinion considering I see Buffalo having no more than 20% equity in this situation.

I think there's more value in Pitt TT Over 3.5 and Buf TT Under 1.5

I don't know what the TTs will be but that would be my guess.

I am certainly not the guy to tail these days, but you have to agree given your past wagers that the Pitt 1P-0.5 -114 looks damn tasty...

Pittsburgh -.5 -120 first period

As usual the Pittsburgh Penguins come out of the gate flying. They lead the league in first period goals, (15 in 9 games), and have surrendered the third least amount of all 30 teams, (6). So it should come as no surprise that their record in the first period, (-.5 goal) is 6-3. A trend that has been going on for over a year now.

Caveat: Despite their horrendous season to this point and scoring only 3 goals in the first period, (11 games), Buffalo is 7-4, when getting a half puck in the first period.

While on first period statistics: Did you know that the San Jose Sharks have outscored their opponents 14-1 in the opening period?

Thats a nice stat on SJ

Here are a couple other stats I found interesting...

If you took Buffalo TT Under 2.5 last 10 games you would be 9-1

If you took Florida TT Under 2.5 last 10 games you would be 8-2

I don't see that changing much between those 2
