How Many of You Guys Think You Have a RIGHT to Run a Sportsbook?

Search
Too many people that have little or no experience in bookmaking, and are under capitalized in running sportsbooks. Once they get your deposit, these shit books expect you to lose it. They even shade the line against you as soon as they figure out if you play mostly favs or dogs. If you are not a complete loser, they will do many things such as close your account, confiscate your bonus, slow pay or stiff you. These shit books use the same line, "he is a mover", "he plays only steam", or "we don't want wiseguy action". These shit books want to win BOTH sides of a game. Time for these jokers to find another line of work and let the REAL bookmakers run the off shore sportsbooks.

Good post Chuck, and I largely agree.

I swear that many of these "owners" must have answered an ad on a matchbook cover.

"Make thousands in your spare time cashing in on the internet gambling boom. Turnkey operation. No experience necessary. Phone 1-800-not-aclue."

chuck...ive been saying the same thing for quite awhile, way too many offshore books (99.9% of the ones that have already failed) are run by guys who have no inclination of how to run a book...they are nothing more than marketing majors...

all the solid concrete books ie CRIS, OLY, GRANDE....were started and operated by "BOOKMAKERS"....not guys who got a degree in marketing and said hey to his buddies lets open a sportsbook..

Thank you!!!

Poor bookmaking skills should be getting 10x the media attention as to why books fail instead of blaming it on the bonuses they give out.

I agree. You need to be sharp to do well on either side of the fence (and in anything in life for that matter).

I get a kick out of certain bookies calling me names like "follower" because it highlights another area of hypocrisy...if you are a "follower" of steam you are a bad guy but if you are a "follower" of other people's picks like on these boards or even by touts they don't mind that -- in fact, they encourage it.

Blue- Not so much a bump, but more because I read it and believed what was said, so thus I responded.

I agree. All true. BUT actually the off shores have a much higher sucess rate than the rest of the business world. Rough guess but I'd say 50% of new businesses fail.....ScottyS

SCOTT.............quote "BUT actually the offshores have a much higher success rate that the rest of the business world"

i dont agree............i dont have any concrete stats, but i will bet the failure rate for "new books" less than 5 years old is very high............

the solid shops have been around in some form for years...at least 10......

imo.......new shops dont stand much of a chance......

dimes,

I'm going by what I gather from this site. There's constantly 1,2,3 books that are "ready to go under" according to posters. A few per year actually do. That's not many out of a few hundred offshores.
The 50% of new businesses that fail in the real world is a pretty good figure. JMO.....ScottyS

That's the sad truth Chuck. I'm just waiting for there to be 5 books or less and I will open my book up. Or if they all try to go to a bonus of less than 10% I will open a book.

When I saw the title of this thread and my name as the topic starter I thought someone stole my posting name. Not until I started reading the thread did I recall writing it.

I started this thread in response to some posters that were getting their bonuses confiscated and booted because they hit a hot streak. Some posters were questioning these booted players if they thought they had a RIGHT to win money at a spoertsbook!!!!!

Just curious why the "Chuck Sims "Peep" and "RPM" posts came up without their profile info.
