Seriously? Are you racist and why? Did you get it from your parents or just a bad experience or two with a certain minority group which made up your mind about the whole group?
Last year I was talking to a white co worker of mine. He was going on about a ''worthless Muslim cab driver'' and how he had ethnic music on the whole car ride etc, made the usual ignorant remark about him being a terrorist, raghead, etc.
Few days ago he found out his daughter was stuck on the road after her car died.(in winter here it gets to be about -30 degrees celsius) Anyways, she was coming home from school, studying late and her car died. She had left her purse at school in her locker by mistake and didn't have her cell. She flagged down a cab and the cab driver, a grumpy white dude told her she had to pay upfront and drove off. This happens a lot in my city at night with young people because cabbies tend to get ripped off a lot.
Anyways, a muslim cab driver not only drove her home, but first tried to use booster cables to jump start her car so she'd save some money for a tow, cab ride, etc. It didn't work. He bought her hot chocolate on the way home out of his own pocket. Turned the heat way up in the cab, and when he reached her house and she ran inside to borrow cash from her dad and was offered an extra 20 for being so nice he refused saying a tip was one thing but an extra 20 he didn't deserve or want and was just doing his job.
So when the daughter told her dad about the cabbie all he had to say was, ''fn towel head trying to get in my daughters pants.'' She insisted he was respectful, she sat in the backseat and he didn't make any lewd comments and the whole time talked about how he had a daughter almost her age and wouldn't want her stuck in the cold at night on the road'' but he maintained his attitude.
I was astonished about his attitude. I thought the whole point of his story was going to be that he doesn't think all minorities are the same just like all whites aren't the same. You have good ones and bad ones. Nope, not him.
So question is for racists...
Why are you racist? Do you even know? Is it just like favorite foods or favorite colors, tv shows etc? You just don't like certain groups and there's no real reason why. Or does it come from parents attitudes, or bad experiences with a minority or two which made you label the whole group, or what?
