Amazing how the Yanks can compete in a meaningless game against the Redsox...but can win if their life depended on it during the season....they better not get out of this inning

Yankees won 89 games without their best 2 pitchers, or starting catcher. Cant see hoe that makes them a bad team.

The Yankees are a horrible team for the amount they spent on this collection of stiffs. They're old, slow and play with no enthusiasm at all. This current Yankee team is not even in the top ten teams in the baseball.

I shouldn't say the Yankees are a bad team but they certainly aren't a top caliber team and given that the game meant absolutely nothing (expect giving me a push on the over/under of 95 Red Sox wins) it makes sense that it wasn't on television.

At least they'll have a month of golfing before it gets too cold.

Injuries are not an excuse, hats off to the Rays, they earned the divison.
Now, having said that, this team won 89 times with 40 percent of the rotation out, a border line hall of fame catcher out, their starting SS and 3B out for substantial time............

If the money they spent on the talent they have were not hurt, this team wins more than 89 times.

You keep bringing up injuries like you believe the bullshit spewing from Hank's mouth.

The Red Sox were more battered and bruised than the Yankees were, as were many other teams, yet the only complainers are Yankee fans.

Like you said, injuries are not an excuse, so why is it that all Yankee fans are using their teams misfortune as an excuse?

I'm not using the injuries as an excuse, all teams get them, it all evens out.
My point is without them the Yanks win more than 89, but still probably wouldn't catch the Rays, the stars aligned right for them all season, like the 84 Tigers or the 90 Reds.

Sox were just as decimated.

As far as Hank goes, I hate him, I hate Girardi also, I hope Torre and LA sticks it to Hank.

There is no doubt in my mind the Yanks would have fared better this season with Torre.

Earl Weaver once said, the difference between a good manager and a bad manager is 5 games in the win column a season.
