First off, I want to congratulate Bruce Sutter on his election, he is more than deserving. I am a Red Sox fan, so call me a homer. Pure and simple, Jim Rice belongs in the Hall of Fame.
Batted over .300 7 times

382 HR
1,451 RBI

In a time when people care about steroids and such, Jim Rice did all this clean. These numbers were huge for the time he played in. Guys did not hit 50 HRs at that time. The pitching was better, the ball was different (not wound as tight) and the league was not watered down. Jim Rice was a feared hitter. He wasnt a Dave Kingman who hit a HR or struck out. Jim Rice was a hitter with power. He deserves to be in the Hall. Writers need to get their head out of their a$$ and stop blackballing him because he was a jerk to the media.
Thank you for the opportunity to rant.
