Other than Obama care raising my health premiums, I cannot think of any direct actions that any of them have ever done that have dramatically effected my life. I am sure there has been motions set into place that eventually happened and small changes were made that rolled into my life, but nothing drastic or life changing.... Does anyone else have an experience of a presidents actions altering their life?

Don't get me started.... the 43rd one cost us millions in real estate alone. I have a feeling the next one will be even worse.

Not a president directly. But the last time republicans took control of everything in the early 90's it effected almost all of us on this board negatively. It allowed them to sneak the anti-gambling bill onto some kind of port authority bill after 9/11 which is why we all make bullshit topics like this all day instead of which books are ripping people off, which books have the best bonuses. etc etc. No offense to your topic.

It was a damn shame, Reid and other republicans where trying every trick in the book to try to sneak it though but could never do it. It finally did get through and now nobody (dems or reps) will ever care about the issue enough to try to repeal it.

I thought Ronald Reagan was one of the toughest most epic Potus ever! Kadafy messed with us he sent 2 f16's and blew up his kids and camp. End of story! Also took a bullet for the team. Trump loves his country and will make America great again.

directly?

Ignored warnings to pass the largest housing welfare law in history that gave homes to the poor with awful credit.

heath insurance costs, as you mentioned, is the only thing that ever directly impacted me

other than that, they usually just make me busier, they make my phone ring more and I get to increase fees

But I know suck when I see it, I know when people are happier and I know when everybody is pissed

So I suffer vicariously through others

Sent me to a combat zone numerous times. But that's the nature of the business.

I paid the vast majority of my taxes at 15% under Bush 2 and under Obama I paid the vast majority at 24% - I expect the capital gains to go back to 15% or lower and nice allowances for depreciation under Trump - for this reason alone I will always vote R

My health insurance went up about 1200 - not a factor but for some people 100 more a month takes a toll

W caused me to lose about 1/2 of my IRA and 401 K(Thanks Obama for tripling it afterwards). Not to mention W allowed the place where I worked, the WTC to get bombed, and caused me to lose several people I knew.
Other than that, no.

FYI, Reid is a Dem. I agree though that sneaking that gambling stuff into the bill was an atrocity. That's business as usually in Washington though. Happens all the time, piggybacking unrelated legislation. The worst part about the gambling bill was they tried and tried and tried to pass it on its own merits and it was rejected time and time again. Unfortunately, the joining of unrelated bills is a necessary evil. If I recall, this one was particularly distasteful as it was slipped in after midnight the day the bill was to be voted on so it didn't really go through proper channels.
