Ok, so you have a plant that is 2 months old. At what point do you pull the male buds off? how do you know Male from Female?

smile....It's either a male or a female. Not both where you remove the male buds

Male plants can be identified easily. They produce seeds

Seriously...just like you and I produce seeds when we want our species to reproduce.

Male plants can still be grown and harvested, but the quality will be very middle range at best.

But regardless, they must be severely segregated from the females. Remove all chance of physical contact in same room. The females will be able to detect that male plants are nearby (seriously) and this causes them to resinate more (akin to a human female getting wet)

ok, so it's either a male or female? I read that there are both and the male must be trimmed off. I guess they are talking about other plants.

So, if you grow one plant, hope for a female? lol

BB, I sincerely cannot wait until fall of 2012 (at latest) by which time I will have estabished legal residence in Colorado (though spending most of time in FL). I will then join with some trusted friends up there to legally grow some severely dank product that will be sufficient to meet our shared needs for the rest of our lives

I have a friend who just moved from Knoxville to So Cal and it was a piece of cake. Told the doc he had anxiety from moving and he was buying whatever from the shop he wanted in minutes.

Walked in and they had brownies and cookies and the best strands you could imagine.

He is meeting myself and some friends in Vegas Sep 30 and bringing some over, I can't wait.

billie jean, explain. does one plant have both?

It is possible. Some plants are hermaphrodites (both sexes) which can be hard to differentiate in the beginning. But most plants are either male or female.

Females produce buds (which is actually the flower of the plant) which have the highest content of THC (active ingredient in weed), so you only want females.

If the females gets pollinated they'll produce seeds which you don't want cause it will affect the quality of your buds.

Easiest way to do it from scratch is getting some good seeds, kill the males and keep only the females. And once you have a big strong female you can just get clones off of it, no need to mess with seeds anymore. Cloning is super simple. Best way to do it is to get a female clone from someone who's already growing.

K, you throw 3 seeds in a bucket. 3 plants start growing. Can you grow 3 plants in one pot? they are wrapping each other. pull 2 and leave one?
