The 95 team was the only one that would be within 2 TDs of last year's SC team. Sorry but that team last year was filthy. Just imagine if they didn't disqualify Mike Williams. The others for the Huskers were overrated, the media loved them. They might have deserved co-national champs in the other two years, but sorry can't say that team deserves mention with the others IMO.

I neglected to mention other years in that era when I mentioned 3 out of 4 years being 1 loss away from being undefeated. Here is their yearly record from 1993 - 1997. I find it hard to believe they were this dominant because they were overrated. I mean these records are staggering! Can you think of any other team in recent history that has had a record like this for 5 years in a row? None of the other teams mentioned in this thread.

60-3. Give them their due WildBill.

1993: 11-1
1994: 13-0
1995: 12-0
1996: 11-2
1997: 13-0

oklahoma mid 70's

nebraska early to mid 80's

miami late 80's

usc last 3 years .

4 greatest teams ever .. not sure who was best .

Don't forget Army in the mid-forties..a stacked deck during the Big War.

Nebraska couldn't get the job done in the '80s, but should've three-peated in mid-nineties..one of the best three year windows ever..Dr.Tom finally learned the tricks and finished hard.

Bud Wilkinson's win streak OU teams and Bear's late '60s /early '70s Bama teams(hosed by pollsters for ND a few times, as was LSU once?)..great coaches, great teams.

L5Y, USC is 4-0 vs SEC, outscoring them 167-48!!!

Saturday I was so fuqin amazed watcing this team start off. Unbelievable watching USC score 4 TD's in 8 plays. These guys are so friggin quick strike it's astonishing.

ON the defensive side they had atleast an average of 3-4 players making the tackle at one time for damn near close to a loss.

I've watched this squad all 3 years and one thing I've figured out. Carrol / Lienart like to go for the homerun early and fast. Damn near like special ops wear they hit hard and fast in alot!! Pretty much go up by 24 points before the opposing team can even blink. At that point they've taken away some facet of the opponents offense to turn them one sided. Personally I think injuries are the only nemesis to USC. CAL will contest them but they aren't gonna beat em. UCLA....we'll see.

ASU & ND? Not even in the same class. Seriously.

It'll be a cake walk to the Rosebowl this year folks. Just enjoy the ride n watch how that offense demoralizes their opponents.

They only thing I'll worry about this year is whether or not the 2nd stringers will allow the backdoor cover or not.

That is nuts, Bill. USC nearly got beat by Stanford, was outplayed by Cal, and UCLA hung in for a long time. Nobody came close to that Nebraska '95 team.
