I would say its interesting and different, but what I would love to see is a true betting exchange like Betfair, but for American sports with American bettors allowed. That would make things even more interesting and if it took off could put some pressure on those books that are still booking at 11/10.
Books like WWTS, CRIS, LasPalams have betting exchanges, which work just like Betfair's. Even the commission structure is identical, but not the liquidity...
We will be launching an entirely new stand alone betting exchange (in addition to our current trading exchange) tailored specifically for the North American market very soon. All the liquidity pooled across the betting and trading exchanges.
Thank for your interest and we will keep you all posted.
Overall we are very happy with our growth in the North American market.
While we accept that our "trading" application is not the most intuitive presentation to the sports fan, our new betting exchange (to be launched very soon), has been specifically created for the North American market.
I've been with them for a year, never a problem, very professional. You can almost always get better odds at Tradesports on futures than anywhere else.
I just bought Ohio State at 33-1 for the NC, which should be the true odds rather than the 8-1 to 15-1 you see at other books.
They don't have much to offer in some prop categories. Such as "Will the Chiefs go Undefeated" etc.
Our new stand-alone betting exchange is a significant development and simplified presentation. We have developed it in close co-operation with a North American betting user group. It would be a pleasure to give you a preview in the near future. Just mail us your e-mail address if interested to commercial@tradesports.com
