It isn't Farnsworth's fault that he sucks. It is Trey fucking Hillman's job to know who sucks and who doesn't. Gil Meche doesn't suck, and he was under 100 pitches.

I guarantee if you trot Meche out there in the 8th, Thome doesn't get to bat until the 9th, and it damn sure wouldn't have been with 2 guys on base. And it would have been against Soria.

The first post says why was Farnsworth in the game instead of Juan Cruz.... therefore managerial error.
I can see the reasoning behind taking out Meche this early in the year, but no reason Farnsworth should be out there over a much higher quality arm in Cruz.
