My "thing" is to win jackpots in video poker (2k - 4k) and then to give it all back within 2 weeks. usually I start researching the specs on some electronic equipment I want to buy and then... rather then buy it... go back to the casino and dump the money. It's really a great wasteful system. Anyone looking to waste some money should try it. The key is to NOT buy the electronics item you are researching so that when you lose the jackpot money, there is nothing to show for it.

Eating out, nightclubs/concerts, language courses.
Though at least the last thing probably not really qualifies as "wasting" money since it helps a lot settling down in a new country and making new friends/getting to know the locals.

Biggest waste of money is definitely any alcoholic beverage i have purchased at nyc clubs/lounges over the years. Couple weeks ago at some rooftop lounge..$11 for beer. A drink on the rocks? That will be $17 please. If you dont feel like running a tab you can use our ATM....the surcharge is $8. Its actually cheaper to get loaded on "illegal" drugs during a night out.

what is 'wasting money'? I suppose using disposable income that could have been used for greater enjoyment? or derived elsewhere with less cost.

we all have disposable monies. If you're not having fun with it, what's the point?
