How do you wager offshore in Vegas?

I know that sounds like a dumb question but I read recently that Nevada is one of a handful of states that has a law against wagering offshore. I think Hawaii, Minnesota and maybe one or two others do as well.

Obviously there are people that live in Vegas and use offshore accounts for sportsbetting, so the question is, is this law actually enforced, ever?
Is one at risk living there and betting offshore?

The same way you do in Madison, WI. There has not been one case brought to court and it is a misdemeanor.

cellphone works great however if u want the internet u go to kinkos at flamingo and paridise. first grab a coffee black at the starbucks which is attach to the kinkos and go online and wager. ( rumor has it )

From my hotel room, phone in to my Canadian ISP bet at a British book and create an international incident if charged.

Sky- That's not a dumb question at all but the answer is simple. It's just as illegal to bet offshore in Nevada as it is in any other state but people are going to do it anyway. Not that I would of course.

Las Vegas got out of the sports betting business years ago. They don't want the action. I know tons of guys that haven't made a bet in a Las Vegas sportsbook in years. The books want only squares playing parlay cards and locals playing those jagoff football contests where 65,000 people tie with a 13-2 record each week and win $3.52 a piece

Well I said "dumb question" to try to mitigate silly answers. Reality, Wisconsin has no law banning internet wagering, but Nevada does. There's no federal case law yet, just the Wire Act and the Cohen case doesn't apply to bettors, just bm's. There's no test of the Wire Act against a bettor and there probably never will be. Something like the Kyl bill with no criminal provisions might pass, leaving everyone free to do what they want.

I just think they don't enforce it but I've seen certain characters there who tout and so forth being fairly circumspect about mentioning offshore wagering. And I think it's because of the law; which doesn't mean they aren't doing it, just that they don't want to advertise that fact which is understandable.
