It's causing a lot of stress, on my wife, she takes it out on me, of course.

Her eldest daughter is planning to marry this ....well,Bum., in Oct ( I think)

She makes a decent salary.... like 50k

He has a son about 5 yo, from a non-marriage...has to pay support, etc. Works mainly under the table for his father, spends a lot of money on weed,beer,kid....really contributes nothing to the household expenses....not really a great catch, more of a dependant, than a provider.

They are both about 27 yo

I'll call her "Cris"... aka my eldest stepdaughter

I'll call him Paul... the B/F with baggage.

Cris bought a house in late 2008, C&P live there, house about 200k, mortgage about 180k... which is high relative to income.

Cris basically pays all bills, from what I see, as Paul is Fucked for life with the kid... or at least for 13 more years.

I get a lot of stress from it, as Cris' mother is my wife, and she rightfully wants her daughter to be on solid ground.

Paul wants an extravagant wedding... I sure ain't paying for it !

I married the mother ( in Vegas), and paid for it myself.... still paying. Her father was a multi-millionaire,too.

These kids shouldn't even get married ( IMO), let alone a lavish wedding with hundreds of guests and a 100k bill, along with it

I doubt they make it a year...if they make it to Oct.

Any ideas ?

A postponement of some sort seems appropriate, IMO.

Paul, is draining Cris.

and No, no photos will be posted.

Sometimes what people get from one another on an emotional and spiritual level can't be put into dollars and cents, these are both adults...mind your old ass self and let them live and learn if need be...

Where do you live Doug? Pay some chick to make out with him, and get a picture of it and show it to Cris.

It's really complicated...

Cris is short, about 4' 11" ( like her mother), average looking ( really), has a sis a few years younger that's like 5'6" and really hot, better B/F, a lot better, younger sis has model type looks, and is just really more fun to be around.... they ( the family) always say, she's my daughter... of course she isn't.

Cris has an inferiority complex to her sister ( If I'm playing Shrink).

Cris is far smarter, has a college degree, little sis is more street smart.

I just want the best for both of them. I'll probably divorce their mother at some time, pretty much hate her guts.

Not much you can do. And yes, you will be paying. Actually her father should help. Groom's parents pay for the rehersal dinner, and booze at the reception. Brides parents pay for everything else.

I ain't paying for it, I got the old model, and paid my own way, and regret it more with each passing day.

Poppie didn't pay for it, even though worth a few million, before he died.

I damn well ain't selling my condo , to pay for a wedding, I didn't father these step-daughters...go to Vegas, like I did !

Not much you can do here or you will risk alienating your daughter.

Eventually she will dump the chump.

The best you can do is to pretend to support in whatever she decides to do--even though you might disagree with it 100 percent. She is 27, your job as a parent is done

and try to make sure they have a prenup

I'll have to talk with her privately when I get a chance, most likely via email, so as to avoid people like the BF, and her mother "overhearing"

step-daughter, not daughter,BTW.

bottom line is this marriage shouldn't happen, at least not yet.

If Paul sounds like the lowlife you say he is, plan to hook him with an escort for he bachelor party. Control where the party will be. Plant a camera in the room(s) and after he's through bangin the hooker, escort, stripper, etc. Print the photo's or get the video and give me to your beloved daughter.

Problem solved.

If you can somehow hook him or get his friends to hook him up earlier with the above mentioned situation before the wedding plans get too deep, all the better. Even if it doesn't have to be for his bachelor party. Just try to blackmail him in general by evidence of him bangin another chick. A smokin hot escort is the easiest way to git er done.

Doug, have you seen the movie The Graduate?

J/k.. at 27 years old each there is nothing you can do to stop them but you can make it very clear to your wife, and the couple that you are not in a position to pay for the wedding (especially these days is a good reason). Recommend they either have a small service and reception in their home with just immediate family and a few friends or that they elope to Deleware or Vegas wherever they want to go.

If there is a strong bond of love between them then the type of wedding should not matter. Think about it, if they took the $100K and paid down their mortgage, their new mortgage would ease their monthly nut substationally. Big expenseive weddings unless someone involved is very wealthy are a thing of the past or only for the movies.

BOL to the couple, wil.

100% agree with you Doug. Weddings are the most overrated, overpriced things on earth. Some people think this is their time to shine I guess.

I wish I had an answer for you but I dont. Just wanted to say I do agree with you, if that makes you feel any better, LOL. Good luck!!
