My girls brother and his girlfriend stayed the night couple of days ago, and after they left (about 6-7 hours later) I went to get some cash out of my drawer and it was all gone.

They wont answer any calls from relatives of friends, and don't know the whereabouts at all.

How do I prove they did it? What repercussions do I have?

This sucks... close to $6k gone in the blink of an eye.....

yeah, calling the cops just could do damage in the family, which is why I think it's best to get the gf's opinion on it all...
need to act fast before the spend it all though

You get the suspect to admit it in some form or another on a recording without suspect knowing. Tell them they make arrangements to pay it back or you're going to the police.

Now..

What kind of moron leaves 6-7k just laying around in a drawer, and let some clown around said cash?

Also, the brother could have taken the money himself and his gf knows nothing about it.

Or vice-versa.

Either way, sorry about your loss.

Some people are losers...

Knowing you live in Las Vegas..... that money is long gone and I would venture you have zip chance of getting it back because you have no proof. If you want proof, you'll need the police involved and to have fingerprints lifted from the source. Problem is they are likely smudged now, so the question is, how important is that money to you?

Either you fight him or you let it go. If they straight up stole it you arent getting that money back. What a shitty thing to do.

I'd tell my girlfriend to get ahold of her scum brother and tell him that he has one week to return the money or her boyfriend (you) are gonna get someone, sometime, when he least expects it, to fuck him up. I wouldn't tell him how, when he asks, but just tell her to tell him that you are crazy and will make good on your promise.

What scum. And you'd better watch out for your GF too if she comes from that blood.

1) Tell your GF...even if she doesn't do shit she has to know what happened....never let them stay at your place again....this will get her on that opinion as well.

2) Have gf confront him....if she doesn't want to then you do it. You wont get anything (maybe slim chance) but they need to know you know and that uncomfortable feeling is the least you can give them.

3) Hire a PI and have him fingerprint

4) buy a fucking safe

When you can't put the money in the bank...for obvious reasons...you leave it at home. He should probably have a safe, but 6k may not be something he really thinks about.

Pimp your girl out. Once you make 7 grand, dump her.

Take the extra grand, go out have yourself a good night, then buy a safe.

I'm just lightening it up.

In all seriousness, there is probably little to nothing that you can do about it (without really taking care of it if you know what I'm saying)

Everything has already been said in this thread about possible solutions.

Hopefully you (and others) use this as a learning experience.

Whatever you do, I wish you the best with it.

Sleep on it and I'm sure you will come up with the solution that is best for you.

Unless you can get them to admit it on tape, there is absolutely nothing you (or the cops) can do about it. Do consider the possibility that your GF took it, knowing you would blame others.
