Provided you believe you have a profitable strategy, stick with the same plan, find something to occupy the mind, and get back at it the next day. Yesterday went 0-4 in hockey, 3 losses in OT, 1 in SO. Today I took an over 1.5 goals in CGY/VGS 1st period, had a goalie interference called with 4:49 lef0t to negate a goal. Works my way occasionally too. Needed Jamal Murray to grab a board a week or so ago on a prop, he grabbed a meaningless one with like 6.8 seconds left in the game.

Poker?
Poker players tend to have selective memory. Especially online. Thinking they are almost always on the wrong end of it.
I make a point to take note of all the times I suck out on someone else.
And just remind yourself that if you are a good player you will take more bad beats just due to the sheer # of times you get it in good vs the times you are behind.

The ones that are hard to shake are the ones when you are super deep in a tournament that you have invested hours in and a river puts an abrupt end to it. Almost every time that happens though you can probably point to a lucky runout that enabled you to get to that point.

Just enjoy the ride. If you're not playing above your head there is always tomorrow. Just keep getting it in good, it's all you can control.

Awesome advice! And I might add, redefine your definition of a bad beat. For me if I'm not winning from pre-flop to the turn, then it's not really a bad beat IMO. For example if I have a lower pockets and flop a set, but my opponents pockets are the top pair on board and then he turns a higher set, I don't sweat it. He had me dominated pre-flop, I hit a two outer, then he hit a two outer. Conversely if I'm holding the higher pocket pair and get beat by a lower pocket pair, then I'm cursing. Also when my AK loses to Ace rag. Again winning from pre-flop to the turn, only to lose on a 2 or 3 outer, is my definition of a bad beat.

All depends when the bulk of the money goes in.

I have QQ, you have KK. Board runs out 83Q, 7, K

Money in preflop? Not a beat
Money in on flop? Beat
Money in on river? Not a beat

True but like I said I try to redefine my definition of a bad beat. Helps keep my sanity! Especially in your example. Money in on flop then yes it's a bad beat, or bad luck as I like to call it. But depending on how much was put in pre-flop they guy holding KK will rarely fold in this situation. So it's not like the guy holding KK is a moron. It's when you got donks holding a low pocket pair with all over cards that chase and hit, that's what gets my blood boiling.

My favorite is when someone open shoves 40bb with 58o and you call with KK and they flop a straight.
Good times.

Horses were the worst for beats cant tell you how many times I had all but 1 to close out a pick 4, keyed tickets in wrong that won, not getting bets in, horrible photos, 1/9 favorites mysteriously not firing..the worst

if you're not getting bad beats in poker, then you are not playing correctly.
the converse is true, if you are giving them you aren't playing correctly
(but might be running really good, but don't know it) a classic example
of this is the final hand in the movie " the cincinati kid". edward g robinson
is so smug and full of insights when he wins, but he is the sucker here and
sadly like too often in real life- the sucker wins all the chips.
