starting pitcher and bullpens : era, whip,k's per 9.
ba,obp, ba with risp for heart of order
ballpark, bullpens current rest, next 3 days schedule, weather if not domed, managers tendencies,r/l splits for batters and pitchers, past performance of batters vs pitchers, playing surface, closer wuality, quality of available pinch hitters
and at least 100 more stats/intangibles - but those are a few basic ones
im old fashioned and honestly the very very first thing i look at is the lineup makeup..like when a rhp faces a lineup with 6 left handed hitters, ill take a long hard look into the other factors.
or you can just make it real easy and have someone call you from the park and tell you 5 minutes before the game starts if the starting pitchers have thier 'stuff' or not on any given day - weather again comes into play here, humidity, etc depending on what pitches they actually have
anyhow, if you do find the holy grail, please pass it around, im thirsty for some baseball :drink:
