make the character size for some application I run smaller. When I run it in my laptop computer the font is smaller than that in my desktop. There is no special setting in the application for font size. Both computers run Windows XP.
Any help will be appreciated.

What application??

If you want to shink character size in your Internet browser, just View/Text Size (FireFox), pretty sure IE is similar

Right click anywhere on your desktop --> properties --> appearance tap --> select font size

Something else to check

If the programs in general (not just fonts) are smaller you can look at your screen resolution and settings also by right click open area on your desktop and clicking on properties then click the settings tab.
