Fairycarrey was all exact just like Enflameo would’ve been. How do y’all know how exact the temperature is like at work? Just seems odd to quote all that.

Cause the thermostat is on a schedule. I know what the schedule is because I set it.
I have no idea what temperature Enfuego keeps his house.
Any other questions?

If I set my thermostat at 80 it takes like 2 hours to cool my house down in the summer. It's over 100 degrees outside like every day.

Same here, that's why I keep it at 75 during the day. The woman thinks it's a waste and wants it at like 80 while we're at work, but I contend it ends up costing more (not to mention taking forever) to bring it back down in the evening.

I think we've had 15 or more days in a row over 100 currently in south Texas. Brutal hot I can't wait for fall.

Damn, I wouldn't even consider that climate controlled.

Precisely. For most homes you do not need an air conditioning unit to keep your house between 78-82. By keeping the blinds closed during the day and opening windows at night and early morning you could easily keep your home between 78-82. Energy star is clueless! I would love to check out their offices during the summer.

78 at all times and I live in Phoenix...when it is 110 outside and you come in house, 78 feels like 70. It is plenty comfortable

I will say that this depends on where you live. I live in central Florida so if you set your temp at 76 it just feels better then if you live in Michigan and set it on 76. With that said energy star can eat a dick. I try to be conservative with my temps and i go 73-74 at night and 76-77 during the day. I'll put it on 82 when we go on vacation.

What's the point of cooling at all when on vacation ?

I guess you gotta keep your sofa at a comfy temperature ?

Not even that. The outside humidity is a major bitch!!

Your house would smell and the walls and ceilings would be a tad wet as your house will smell

especially in Florida, plus people that have those "famous" Popcorn ceilings = Black Mold

If i set it at 82 depending on the time of the year it hardly ever comes on if it does at all. I was in Michigan the first week of august and had my nest set at 82 while gone and i can look at my app and see that the AC was running at most an hour a day if at all (for reference my AC ran 14.25 hours yesterday). MY FPL bill during the days I was gone was about $3 a day, and thats with the hot tub and pool ect that have to run long hours every day regardless of the AC. Plus being that I have a nest when I land at the airport in Orlando I then get on the app and set the AC to my normal temp so that its there when I get home.
