Football Receives AP Poll Recognition
(September 25, 2005) After its impressive 45-14 win over Louisville Saturday night, the USF football team received seven points in today's AP Top 25 poll. It marked the second time ever that USF had receive AP votes. The Bulls picked up points after a 2002 win over Bowling Green, who was ranked 25th in the ESPN/USA Today poll at the time.
USF did not receive points today in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll, but the Bulls did so so in 2003, ironically following a win over Louisville. The Bulls lost the following week against TCU and dropped from that poll.
USF, who is playing its ninth season ever and its first in the BIG EAST, also ranked as high 12th in the Division I-AA poll during the 1998 season, the program's second year.
