How BIG is This Game for Anaheim Tonight?

Open the season 0-3, play their third in four against Edmonton tonight, and have San Jose on deck for Friday.

They are already down 8 points to the Sharks, have no PP goals in 11 opportunities, have allowed their oppostion 7 power plays over the first 3 games, and surrendered 6 goals while on the PK.

No doubt Hiller gets the start tonight. Giguere has opened the season with a .851 save percentage.

Can it get any worse for this team?

Panic buttons are being pressed WAAAAAYYY to early. All I hear on XM is how the Ducks this and Hawks that. There are 79 more games left--some teams have nly played 2 games.
SJ is the class of that Division and has shown it so far. Hockey teams good one night and piss poor the next. Vancouver sits near the top and if they play another game like they did in Washington they should sub them for an OHL team.
The price on the Ducks seems ok--but Edm is a tough out--by no means a bet your ass play-IMO

This is not necessarily an endorsement of the Ducks but this game is a real character test for them. If they don't come out hitting hard, playing 100% every shift, crashing the net, etc. than we can officially say they have no heart.

The question here is, does Edmonton have too much speed for these guys?

I'm not saying bet your ass on Anaheim WW. Actually I'm leaning to Edmonton.

This isn't my 15 unit play on them or bail out on a 25 unit chase against San Jose if they do lose.

I'm just saying they could easily be down 10 points by this weekend and I don't care if it's October or February 10 points is a huge hole with the parity that exists in this league. With the improved western conference bottom dwellers it's very possible that they could be out of the playoff picture by November.
