Some of the Eastern Conference teams (Boston, Philly) get too much credit because they've done well in the playoffs recently and because of their history/tradition.
But does it really matter if you made it to the Eastern Conference Finals during the last 2-3 years? The Eastern Conference is AWFUL.
I don't think Boston is that much better than Chicago. Yet Portland was only -5 against Boston, whereas they'd probably be a double-digit favorite against Chicago. Why? Because of Boston's tradition, reputation, etc.
Boston is a great team to fade right now, but I'm sure that will change in 2-3 weeks. Sooner or later, people are gonna realize how bad the Celtics are. Come on, they're not gonna make the playoffs in the weak Eastern Conference!
