had this idea when i was like 10. I'll stick to a 4 team playoff though. reg season remains relevant unlike other sports and the best team in the nation will be decided on the field. best of both worlds.

A playoff would be the best post season in all sports (march madness may be better)---I say go 8 teams though

3-0 vs the top 8 in the land makes you a true champion

Does 3 straight really make you more worthy that's somewhat debatable I think. Four teams will keep the integrity of college football's distinct regular season and create for great drama at seasons end. Teams will pit their claims as a Top 4 program with late season heroics and debates all across America will be heard louder than ever before. All awhile keeping the sanctity and prestige that only the elite can participate on the highest platforms or grandest of stages or however the hell you say it haha.

Thats just my two cents at least. 8 teams does beat our current system. I think paper football beats our system quite frankly.

Well enough politics I've got games to cap :aktion033

i'd rather see

a) August preseason with all games being Div1A vs Div1AA. This gives the lower division schools some publicity and money and allows some teams to get some reps in for their guys. This game wouldnt have to count towards standings and such.

b) teams are allowed once every 5 years to schedule a second Div 1AA team if they desire that would count towards their record.

c) conference vs conference matchups one weekend in September. some teams would get left out. but how about Pac 10 vs MWC. Sun Belt vs ACC. SEC vs Big 10. Big 12 vs Big East. MAC vs WAC. and then mix it up each year.

d) emphasize non-conference SOS for bowl games/BCS. teams willing to schedule tough non-conference opponents, especially on the road, should be heavily rewarded.

BCS sucks but we're stuck with it for a long long time even though 95% of us want a playoff system
