Thinking of going to Vegas in late June and would like to stay at a nice hotel on strip between New York, New York and Venetian or so.
Anybody know how to get good deals? I remember I heard some were around $49 a night (Mon-Thu) a while ago but not too sure what it is like now.
Also, how to get meal comps.
Not much of a slot player, like betting sports, horses, and playing craps.
Thanks for your help.

check out americawestvacations.com and follow the prompts for LV. Some really good deals that include airfare as well.

try travelaxe.com, they have great offers on their.

also, if you book bally's through there web site, it is like $69 a night. learn pick'em and play a few hours at 50c or the $1 level and possibly get the room taken care of, and some food

I know The Excalibur in Vegas always has some pretty affordable deals going. Check out www.excalibur.com.
Their sportsbook isn't the fanciest but you're just a short walk from the MGM Grand and the Mandalay Bay, who both have excellent sportsbooks from an atmosphere standpoint.

Playing a few hours of craps each day might be enough for buffet or meal comps depending on how much you bet. Ask a host there ahead of time to find out what the requirements are.

during the summer months - vegas literally gives away rooms during the week (sun - thur nights). if you looka round you ca find rooms for about $30 - or less - per night - at places that are actually worth staying at.

also - when you go - don't bother bringing any long pants/shirts or a sweater/jacket.

it will be about 4,000 degrees during the day and dipping down to "only" 3,000 degrees during the day.

Go to www.parkplace.com. Then click Las Vegas, and it will have links to the websites of all of the Park Place properties. Click on Bally's, for example, and go to Hotel, then Special Offers, then Hot Dates. Some great deals at those places, if you plan ahead and go during the week.

I am doubting there will be great deals midweek this summer until maybe late August. The Strip is going gangbusters, Mandalay just said their earnings for the quarter will be at least 25% more than they expected, and they earn much of their money from selling rooms and not the casinos. The huge turnout of families during summer makes Vegas a different place than it was even 3 or 4 years ago. It now earns lots of money filling its rooms during summer time and isn't so quick to give deals. You might find a $49, but don't count on it. Reserve in advance and consistently follow up, leaving open the option to cancel the reservation until you go. Often the $89 room today might go on special for $69 next week so if you are really intent on saving the money keep looking. However don't expect the great deals of the past without resorting to staying downtown or at one of the locals places.
