CONSORTIUM*CHOICES

# 2 TOM HILL 9/2
# 5 MICHAEL'S VICTORY 3/1
# 4 DON'TCALLMEFRANCIS 4/1

Look no further than TOM HILL as the bet in this one. Should compete sharply in this contest as his style of running fits well in this grouping. Win percent for this driver-trainer is a sparkling 39 percent - excellent probability. Napolitano is racking up the wins in recent times. Terrific win statistic makes this nice horse our contender. MICHAEL'S VICTORY - A formidable play in here as he has one of the highest winning clips in the grouping as well as tremendous credentials all around. Could provide us a win based on great recent speed ratings - earning an average of 89. DON'TCALLMEFRANCIS - The handicapping team always likes a proven performer. This horse's high winning rate is confirmation of that. Starters win from this position at Pocono Downs with better than average regularity, suggesting this tremendous wager.

# 6 UNABATING 2/1
# 5 TORCHES ANGEL 5/1
# 2 ROCKY BOY 7/1

We've got a vibe UNABATING is going to get the score. Worth a close look here based on the ratings in the speed rating department alone. Comes into this race with good TrackMaster class stats in relationship to the group of animals - could be worth a shot. This nice horse achieved a really strong TrackMaster Speed Rating last out. Looks fit to come right back. TORCHES ANGEL - Earned a 82 speed rating last time out. A duplicate affair here should get the victory in this contest. Really good driver-trainer, winning 40 percent of the time. Looks to be a strong bet. ROCKY BOY - Pace makes the race is a favorite saying of this brain trust. Pace statistics here point to a sharp play. Drawing the 2 hole at this track has lead to a well above average win clip.

# 9 THUNDER POINT 5/1

# 7 SOCIAL SKILLS 12/1

# 6 EXTREMELY FRANK 6/1

THUNDER POINT looks to be a formidable contender. Has a strong shot in this race if you like back class. Could provide positive profits based on competitive recent Equibase Speed Figures with an average of 74. I like the jock on this gelding - very strong chance to win the contest. EXTREMELY FRANK - Boulanger's return on investment over the last 30 days automatically makes this pony a very solid contender.

Aqueduct - Race #2 - Post: 12:49pm - Maiden Claiming - 8.5 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $41,000 Class Rating: 80

Rating:

#1 KOPPER WIRED (ML=6/1)
#9 BAPU (ML=12/1)
#6 THERE GOES BEN (ML=3/1)
#12 TWO DOWN ONE TO GO (ML=8/1)

KOPPER WIRED - This thoroughbred obviously likes the conditions for today's race. Has garnered the highest speed rating on the grass at the distance and surface. This horse has increased his speed figs in each of the last 2 races. That kind of progress is telling me this horse is ready. BAPU - Taking a big class drop in class rating points from his September 28th race at Delaware Park. Based on that key piece of info, I will give this horse the advantage. Gelding's last race was against tougher open company. He's in with easier 'state breds' today. Based on his last TrackMaster turf number alone, I'm going to play this mount. THERE GOES BEN - Was a beaten favorite in his last start. Ran well considering the speed fig recorded was good enough to make him one of the contenders in today's contest. TWO DOWN ONE TO GO - The jockey/trainer duo of Gallardo and Asmussen has a strong ROI together. Asmussen has a very strong win percent in turf routes. This gelding should be in shape and ready to win.

Vulnerable Contenders: #11 APOLLO ELEVEN (ML=7/2), #15 SOUTHERN UNION (ML=4/1), #4 STREET FIGHTIN MAN (ML=6/1),

APOLLO ELEVEN - This animal hasn't shown much in the last pair of events. This horse likes to hit the board, but doesn't usually finish first. Leave out of the top spot. SOUTHERN UNION - This animal doesn't have a conquering demeanor. Very often finishes second or third. STREET FIGHTIN MAN - Granted the last race was nice, finishing third. The lack of any recent activity raises some concerns though. This racer ran a disappointing speed rating last time out. He shouldn't improve and will likely suffer defeat in today's race running that fig.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - BAPU - Comparing last speed ratings in this field, nobody beats this gelding. Tops in the field with a last speed rating of 93 on September 28th.

Golden Gate Fields - Race #1 - Post: 12:45pm - Claiming - 5.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $7,000 Class Rating: 85

Rating:

#5 PRIVATE TANNER (ML=12/1)
#4 MANY INVESTMENTS (ML=3/1)

PRIVATE TANNER - Has discovered a soft spot today. MANY INVESTMENTS - I think this gelding is ready to run a good one. He's had enough races since the layoff and should be fit. He has the top earnings per start. Take a long look at this horse.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 SOUTHEAST ASIA (ML=9/5), #3 TUPELO CUSH (ML=2/1), #2 WEST A WHILE (ML=8/1),

SOUTHEAST ASIA - You always believe this animal has a shot to be the victor, but he just misses most every time. Finished fourth last time out. Would have to perk up to finish in the money in today's event. Garnered a somewhat easily forgotten speed rating last time out in a $3,200 Claiming race on October 6th. Doubtful to see an improved performance off of that fig. TUPELO CUSH - If you keep playing these sort of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be disappointed frequently. In any affair of 5 furlongs, I like to support a contender that has been looking good in sprint affairs recently. This horse doesn't win here at Golden Gate Fields. He needs a different venue to show his best. WEST A WHILE - This gelding hasn't had any recent success in short distance affairs. Difficult to bet on him in this race.

RECOMMENDED*CHOICES

# 6 CLASSIC CHARLIE 5/2

# 9 MY HONEY LAURIE 9/2

# 2 LA PLATANERA 10/1

CLASSIC CHARLIE is my choice. Should best this group here, showing very good numbers of late. Players should take a good look at this one as this mare has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this group. Must be carefully examined - I like the figs from the last contest. MY HONEY LAURIE - Garcia is trying to score with this horse by bringing her back so soon. Earnings per start at the distance/surface is a good angle. This horse ranks at the top in this group. LA PLATANERA - Is worth careful consideration and may be a bet - strong speed figs (67 average) at today's distance and surface as of late.
