this thing opened at around -250(i think)...was bet down in a day or two to around -175.....and i think that`s a bit low..a good deal low,imo..unless bernard gets old overnight....
i spent some time defending dlh`s legacy on another board....an excellent debate....but,i think that dlh is in over his head here...i remember dlh getting manhandled early in the vargas fight....inexplicably throwing the trinidad fight away..because he felt trinidad was stronger?.....was he afraid to stand in with the stronger guy?...generally,having trouble as he moved up in weight fighting the top tier guys....and,to me, that`s understandable...the guy started his career as a super featherweight..
now,he steps up as a full fledged middleweight(maybe a catch weight at 157),vs the best guy he has ever faced....the biggest guy he`s ever faced....the consumate boxer puncher....
i see this as a fight that hopkins has to be salivating for....beating dlh, regardless of the fact that the guy really isn`t a legit middleweight, should help him cement his legacy....you don`t get to fight higher profile guys than dlh.......
hopkins will be ready....as i said, unless father time sneaks up on bernard bigtime in the next 6 months,i think dlh is in over his head.....i expect him to get chopped down here....it should deteriorate as the fight moves into the mid to later rounds....dlh carrying more weight than he ever has....hopkins,with unbelievable stamina....even at this advanced age....still destrying top legit middleweights....and doing it with ease...taking little in the way of punishment....the taller, bigger, slicker guy....
i hate laying odds....and i hate having money tied up for months....but,-175 looks to low to me......
