Frankie, in my 20's I was still a sports fan. I did not bet on sports, and I did not know how. I spent my early 30's learning about sports betting.
Now a days I will sometimes go buy a hat from a team that wins me some $$ either by betting on them or against them and when I wear it when I am out and around people A$$uME I am a fan of that team. When they ask if I am a fan, I usually say, "I am today."
It was hard to learn at first how to bet against the team I bet on the day before, but after winning a few in a row it got to be pretty fun. Witht the help of this forum I have learned a ton, and I take the card each day and look for mismatches and even try to be proactive in going against a pitcher that was a bet on pitcher in his previous 3 starts but just has to be due to get lit up. Carpenter is a good example... I went against him when they lost to the Rox a few weeks ago, and I thought I was crazy because of what I won off of him in his other starts.
