Why would anyone send their money to any book other than Pinnacle or Olympic?

Pinnacle has the most reduced vig and great lines and what pinnacle doesn't offer, Olympic sure as hell makes up for it. Olympic is my favorite book.

I guess the there are a few reasons to play elsewhere:

1. Multiple outs -- Great reason. But how necessary are other outs when you have these 2 books?

2. Bonus whores - Pinnacle doesn't have the best bonus system. People who play at books JUST for great bonuses are really not looking at the long term.

3. Need a Change - Bad luck at Pinnacle and Olympic. You find it impossible to beat these 2 books, but you beat up on the Royal's and BeverlyHillsBookie's of the world.

I will stick with these 2 books. They are the only books I need.

Mr. Green,
I agree it is mainly bonus whores that patronize the questionable books.
There are, however, several other quality books that I can sleep at night knowing my money is safe in.
And for some of us the wide variety of lines on different sporting events is part of the appeal of these books.

4-Line shopping

You do need more than two outs.
But i agree with your message-Play at the bigger and safer books
What Pan Am is doing WILL hurt the smaller books

Canbet and Hollywood are also strong reduced juice outs. Between these 4 most bases are covered.

Well the only reason would be Line Shopping (Multiple Outs)

But I at one time had 5 outs and could never find better lines then I found at Pinnacle and/or Olympic.

So to me, these 2 are more than enough. And I can sleep at night knowing my money is safe there.

Agree that PINNY and OLY would rank near the top for safety on most peoples lists.

HOWEVER, there are other books that many would put right up there with these two as far as safety is concerned.

D2bets,

I agree that Hollywood is a top notch solid shop

You might want to change your opinion on canbet though, word on the street is things aren't really on the up and up over there anymore.

I'm surprised none of the "insiders" of the offshore world has mentioned this before

I'm wondering why anyone would play at a shop that doesn't offer reduced vig and has excellent line management. As far as I know Oly is like that, so books like Hollywood, IIS, and Canbet should rank above them. Equal safety and better vig = better book, or is there something I am missing here?

DARRYL-

In my mind it comes down to a RISK for REWARD situation in many cases.

Each and every book that I post-up with I make that judgement and I have been with many many many books.

Pinnacle and olympic do not offer reduceds odds on parlays, so that is good excuse for some people top bet elsewhere. SO dont bash everyone that doesnt like that pinnacle only offers -110 parlays

Darryl;

I agree with you and D2bets, there are books that are equally as safe and that offer a better value than at least one of the books mentioned above.

Now, it takes an educated gambler to understand VALUE. There will be players that play the bases at Olympic and they get dealt a 20 cent line and they're happy. They will not want to realize how paying more will definitley break into their profit.

A shrewd player understands the need of locking in the profit. If anybody refuses to aknowledge the abvious safety and advantage of using books like Hollywood, it's simply becasue they're leery to try something new. Can you blame these players? After situations like the one with BetPanAm, they are just being prudent.

But to blindly believe a book is safer than the Federal Reserve is not healthy either. A player should always maintain a healthy level of skepticsm and should always be looking forward to increasing his margin of profit.

Does a shop like Hollywood or IIS offer a good option in reduced juice? They do. Are they safe? In my opinion, they are. Why should a player pay more for the same product? They shouldn't, but it's a personal choice, really.

Daryl, D2bets if you guys play the bases at Pinny, then you guys should by all means try BetCascade.com. You will be pleasently/"profitably" surprised of what a Pinny/Cascade mix can do.

Cokehead:

Brother, I heard something about that book that you mention... but I figured there will be safe until the day they decide their margins of profit are not meeting their expectations. After all, they're regulated by the Australian government and they're publicly traded in the London stock exchange.

Oh yes, time for a customer service announcement. www.sportsbook.com will deal a 10 cent baseball line this year. It is pretty tough to get a more secure set of books than the biggest in the world!

Newbie, in essence, Wall Street and every other stock exchange in the world do have a lot of similarites with sports betting. They are all gambles. Life, my dear neophyte, IS indeed a gamble, where money is just a mean to an end.

In-depth education has always been the answer.
